Are Moderators permitted to CHANGE the heading of a thread that changes the narrative completely?

I was discussing a financial institution and their competence in a thread lately. However due to a bit of a beef that the moderator had with one of my replies due to him not knowing who the abbreviated broker was, my heading on the whole thread was changed. Why would this be changed? There was no reason for it…

I also want to put in a complaint about this…

Yes, mods can update thread titles.

Have you PMd the mod about clearing up any miscommunication about the thread's purpose?

Yes, moderators can (and occasionally do) edit the title of a thread for a number of reasons including, but not limited to, the original title is inappropriate, offensive or does not accurately reflect what the thread is actually about.

I suggest you contact the moderator to try and resolve first. You will see who made the edit as post 1 will have a small piece of red text (on the desktop site) showing who made the edit and the time it was done.
