They say military targets, but 🤷🏼‍♂️

It's sad how desperate the western media is to ask "Will Iran feel the need to respond?"

israel - and indeed the US - is repeatedly violating the sovereignty of Iran by attacking its embassies, its scientists, its generals and its own territories. Whatever your views of the Iranian state, Iran is obliged to strike back to deter further aggression. If they accept israeli attacks without response, they invite further attacks. So obviously Iran will retaliate with strikes on israel to deter further israeli aggression.

It's almost laughable how demeaned and degraded the western media is that all hope of de-escalation lies with the "mullahs of Iran", not the "only democracy in the middle east".

Nah - the israelis were shocked by the Iranian strikes a few weeks ago. They suddenly realised they were in a gunfight with someone who had a gun.

The US can't restrain the israelis from genociding in Gaza during an election year when its possibly going to cost Harris votes in key states. The idea they can dictate to israel on responding to a ballistic missile attack is laughable.

The reality is the its the israelis who are dictating their own response. If it is limited, its only because the israelis are still clinging to the old playbook that they can hit others but no one will dare hit them. So they hope if they only minimally attack Iran, Iran will concede israel has a higher priority to attack its neighbours.

I think that is a bad bet - Iran loses nothing from punishing israel with further strikes with its monthly production of ballistic missiles.

if iran targets israel again, it most likely will lose its oil facilities next time out

Israel has targeted Iran . Not sure with what yet but America is saying it had no part in it . On the news BN has said it is a chance to remould the region . Welcome to the costa del Israel

All the time egged on and supported by the US… who gift Israel billions in aid, every year… and rarely if ever criticise them.

All three of Israel’s main TV stations are reporting a second wave of Israeli strikes on Iran. Channel 12 quotes non-state reports in Iran saying Israeli raids are taking place in eastern Tehran and an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps command facility.

Channel 12 also reports that the first wave of Israeli airstrikes targeted missile production and air defense facilities.

According to AFP reporters, continuous explosions and light trails are visible across the sky in central Tehran following the new blasts.

Israel has been "preparing" for decades.

As for extermination, Israel isn't done yet. Estimates from a month ago put the death toll at 185, 000 +

That was before they started executing their starvation plan for northern Gaza.

    I'm giving Israel 10 out 10.

What an underwhelming response from Israel. I wonder why. The first Iranian missile strike has certainly put them thinking.

One of the 3 ICC judges tasked with issuing arrest warrants has left on health grounds and a new one has replaced her. Probably need a year or so to catch up on everything.

Hopefully Iran see the weak response from Israel as their way of backing down, and don't retaliate meaningfully.

Israel will always demand the last word. Like a spoilt child, the bigger more mature party just lets them have it and doesn't respond.

You've made this point several times and you've been schooled on it several times. Yet you persist because you're pretending to be clever.

Let me break it down for you as simple as I can.

    1. Both genocides were wrong

    2. Both were war crimes. Blitz was a war crime too.

    3. Geneva convention 1948

    4. It's 2024

    5. Have some honour in your posting

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Israel has the right to defend itself, it's like a broken record now.

reports are that israel responded to 20 sites across lebanon, syria, iraq and iran last night

given that Israel's original prep plans were leaked online and Iran & Israel are still officially not at war strikes against iranian missile & drone manufacturing and air defences were very measured

the US has indicated that it will defend Israel again against further Iranian assaults

It is clear that both countries are potentially sliding to an all out war all it would take is accidental hit and large numbers of causalities

it won't take much more before israel decides to reply by striking iran's oil facilities

mass israeli causalities could draw the US into helping hit iran's nuclear sites

Iran has become increasingly close to russia over the last 6 months, russia according to sources in Saudi arabia gave iran heads up hours before israeli strike

iran's continuous terroist proxy attacks on israel over the last year has made the current situation very serious

Why is the Israeli response to Iran seen as weak? Do we even know what they hit or what damage was done yet?

To me it looks like they were able to fly their warplanes around Iran with complete impunity. Iran are utterly defenseless.

We should be sending as much support as we can to Iran.

hardly - the strikes on iranian missile and drone manufacturing last night is ultimately helping ukraine

Yoav Gallant posted an image of last nights attack. Unfortunately he had to delete it once it was pointed out to him that the explosions were from 3 years ago. Surely not !

And yet people speak ill of Kristallnacht - an ostensible response to the murder of a diplomat by a Jewish youth. Perhaps reflective of the existential threat faced by Germans from the Jewish people.

    Strange isn't it?

It's almost as if it's easy just to concoct false equivalences

He isn't. You're just cynically using the suffering of Palestinians to take cheap shots once again.

Definitely ……… if your viewpoint is that Ukraine will be better off if/when Russia gains full control of it and that hastening that end is ultimately helping the Ukrainian people. i.e. the Russian point of view.

All Western focus and aid now on Middle East. Those weapons which could have gone to Ukraine now backing up the zionists genocidal wars and constant aggression. All the Russian oligarchs with their Israeli passports sipping champagne in their Tel Aviv penthouses mapping out what regions of Ukraine they want to assume under their personal control.

Up to now Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Pakistan, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, UAE, KSA, Yemen and Malaysia have all condemned Israel's illegal attack on Iran.

This “concern” did exist. This “concern” is the very reason that after WW2 all of the countries got together to agree that civilians and children WEREN’T to be killed during war, if possible, by setting out the Geneva Convention. You and Israel seem to be ignoring that convention. It is no longer 1943, we have rules of war now.

He hasn't but thanks for proving my point.

Corbyn was Labour leader for two elections. He could have forged and led a coalition to aid Palestinians. Instead, he just chose to indulge in and promote his favourite form of racism and sit back while his party became so toxic they suffered their worst defeat since 1935. There's a lot they could have actually done but instead, they just sat back and did the thoughts and prayers thing.

If you cared at all, you'd be holding Corbyn to account. Instead, you've shown that all the Labour left care about is their hatred of centrists.

BBC reporting that Israel may have heeded warnings from the U.S. re attacking Iran. The attack avoided oil and nuclear facilities.

Shame the U.S. doesn't insist on stopping the genocide. It has the power to do so.
