I'm getting married next year and my wife to be has said she'd like to buy me a watch to mark the occasion.

Budget in and around €2k, and it'll need to be new.

I've attached my current collection. I was looking at a Longines Master Collection Moonphase, but probably just out of reach. Beautiful watch on blue alligator strap, and I could always grab the bracelet myself.

Any thoughts?

Assuming it's something you'll always keep. I'd check Chrono24, put in your price, location Europe, other details like size, particular brands, colour, complications you like and see what's available.

if it’s the longines that you like , you should go for that.Particularly as it’s your wedding watch .Assume your not compromising on choice of missus so don’t do it on the watch.

You know what, you're 100% right. I really like the blue dial Moonphase you've linked. I might try get to a shop to try it on and then look for the best deal I can get.

I'll also do what Cienciano mentioned, see if anything else stands out.

I could do but I don't think I'd get 2k unless I sold everything 😂 and the two that are worth anything are the two I'd prefer not part with.

I could probably just double it myself without selling, not sure where I'd go with ~€4k. As I said, big fan of that Moonphase, next on my wishlist would be a green Milgauss but I'm probably looking at €8-10k for that.

Off to Chrono for a look. Appreciate the responses so far!

Wouldn't be a fan of the rose gold, and I'd imagine 35mm is too small.

I'm looking at the Longines Spirit now, 40mm blue dial. Comes on a bracelet but looks really good on a blue leather strap too. My only possible issue is the seemingly very large crown, will hopefully try it on in the next few weeks and see how it goes.
