Nibe ground loop heat pump optimal settings

    Hi

    not wishing to mess with pump too much- believer in leave it alone, though with a cheaper night rate I would like to bias KW consumption towards the night.

    System has a buffer/store too.

    Looking at how best to do this? Some sort of short boost at 6am, or just run slightly higher at night, slightly lower during day? Pump is driven by flow temps and not talking to any room temp sensors

    I have a NIBE A2W but similar setup regards running from the flow temps. But only a tiny inbuilt buffer, is your buffer external?

    Last winter I left it as was pretty much as it would run from the battery during the day.

    Without the battery you could set it to run higher at night, I'm assuming a 9 hour night rate.

    Then lower for the day depending on how the house holds it.

    I have 3 time schedules on mine, which in a way makes up to 4 time slots for different temps. All the NIBE units are probably similar in this way.

    Although, your buffer tank is more of a volumiser which ads more "water" to the system.

    A traditional buffer tank, the HP heats the tank and then there is a separate pump to send it around the house (hydraulic separation)
