I hate those particular short passes out from the back we saw a minute ago - Kelleher, with loads of Chelsea players around our half, rolls it out to a player already under a bit of pressure. it comes back to him, under even more pressure now and now also unable to pick it up, so he has to just kick it out anywhere. It doesn't clear the halfway line, goes straight to them, and we're under pressure again.

Right from the start there was absolutely nothing to be gained by going short, with no next-option for the receiver. There was no reward to go with the high risk. With so many Chelsea players in our half, and no decent options on, sometimes giving Darwin or Mo or Gakpo a 50/50 long ball on the run is the right call, even if it goes against dogma.
