Collecting JSA the day before

Best people to ask would be the Dept of Protection.

It may be the case that payments are SENT to the Post Office on Mondays but you're not able to collect until the actual payment date (Tuesday).

At my local post office people have collected the payment on the Monday with no issues. Others could be different though.

you can actually collect it a day early I use to do it mine would be paid on a Tuesday and could collect it on a Monday morning

I don't know why he thinks this, i said i'd post the reciept to prove you can pick it up on Monday and post the reciept i did.

I am just wondering why it makes a difference if Monday or Tuesday..it's paid in arrears for previous week which is the main point.

Parents get child benefit payment early sometimes as well as other payments.

Presume with a bank holiday just easier to process it on Friday in case of banking delays due to the bank holiday Monday.

There may be discretion by individual Post Masters to pay someone they know in advance but a foolish move.

This nonsense continuing I see. I've spoken to both my local post master & a neighbour on JSA, near retirement age.

Post Master said there are no exceptions or discretion for him to payout Jobseekers payments in advance of day they are due to be paid. My Neighbour had tried on occasion to collect early & told it can't be done, he infact had his payment suspended recently for collecting it two days late.

I'm sure there are Post offices that pay out early but that's a risk they take & quite foolish.
