Incredibly bizarre decision for the Israelis to release that footage of Sinwar making his last stand.

It would be akin to a scenario where the Democratic Party were the ones to release the footage of Trump punching the air after that assassination attempt.

If you can’t see the difference between one religion and all the others then you’ve got issues.

Except that for your comparison to work, 20% of those fur-wearing German ladies would have to be Jewish or Slavic themselves.

Hamas killed and kidnapped Israeli Arabs on Oct 7th too. So the people in your "ghetto" wouldn't be all the Jews or Slavs, rounded up and forced in there, but only a section of the total Jewish/Slavic population of the region, living in a neighbourhood that had voted for a party whose manifesto called for the destruction of Germany. And whose government had recently attacked and murdered thousands of unarmed Germans in their own homes, and promised to do it again and again.

I'm sure you can see the difference really?

Because the terrorist organisation, or organisations, in question hides weapons in residential areas, including schools and hospitals, and they also use human shields. They've been doing this for decades. Plenty of evidence out there to support all of this.

There is no difference, there are plenty of Christian loones and Jewish loones out there. Many Christian loones have perpetrated acts of terrorism in pursuit of their faith. The American Army is now so riddled with Christian evangelists that it is known as the crusader army across the middle east.

Religion is a pox on the world and no one gets off that condemnation.

I do, considering the occupation equivalent to someone stealing your house is delusional.

Gaza after Israel withdrew was getting massive amounts of international aid and investment. It had a shiny new airport, until the second Intifada. Gaza could have become a Mediterranean hub and its people could have had a great life. Instead they voted for Hamas who chose to take the aid and investment and use it to turn the country into a giant military barracks from which to wage their war on Israel. But then that's what's likely to happen when you vote in a bloodthirsty terror group to run the place.

The lack of a response from Israel to the Iranian missile attack is frankly bizarre at this stage. I am beginning to wonder if we aren't being told the whole story as to exactly how effective the attack actually was on the Israeli military targets.

I guess it's easier to murder women and children in tents than take on an actual military force.

Well the second bit goes without saying. I think they are keeping it in reserve so they can continue the killing for a few more months. They have to continue until at least the next US president gets sworn in. If Trump they know they can go even further.

Pffft, zealots have a way of denying things.

The fact of the matter is Israel is the only nation in the Middle East who is wiping anyone off the map.

In other news, Israel has used this year to steal more land off of the Palestinians than the past 20 years combined.

But sure nothing to see here of course.

And many Muslims don't support extremist views, much in the same way that many Jews don't support what Israel is doing in the Middle East.

Bit stupid of Hamas to attack on Oct 7th then, wasn't it? What do you think their military aim was?

    willful ignorance is quiet another.

    Indeed

I'm still gonna rely on my atheist ancestor for a few hundred thousand years ago in Israel. Once I tick "atheist" on my census returns, it will confirm he was one of my peeps. Get my throne ready baby

I think you're right about Netanyahu waiting for a possible Trump win before acting. Which is why you have to wonder about the IQ level of supposedly pro Palestinians Americans like AOC and the rest, who seem determined to undermine first Biden and then Kamala Harris' candidacy. Calling him "Genocide Joe" was so dumb I don't have the words.

The IDF can search hospitals and churches rather than blowing them up. Hamas have miles of underground tunnels to hide weapons in .why are snipers shooting young children .there's no excuse left for the IDF s behaviour towards civilians

Why are medical workers being shot

Why are food and medical supplys being blocked from Gaza

    .

They can get away with as their supporters internationally and even supporters online here thinks it is okay. They can blow up every hospital in gaza, and that would not change. Israel can be so reckless with Gazan civilian life because of the unconditional support they receive.

    You'll have to ask them.

The only thing I can think of behind their attack was that they wanted to bring the West's attention back front and centre to the Middle East by turning Israel's hand. Over the past few years public and governmental attention to the plight of Palestine had been greatly diminished in the West. Hamas probably figured that a savage attack just over Israel's border would provoke a completely disproportionate and much more savage response, as has been the case before, bringing the eyes of the West back firmly onto Palestine. And to a large degree this has worked. Acts of savagery are no surprises by either Hamas or Israel, but the outrageous response by Israel has turned it into a pariah state in the eyes of all but the most savage minds and has brought the reality of what life is like for the Palestinians under the Israelis to the attention of many more people in the West than had been the case before.

You want IDF soldiers to walk into Hamas strongholds and search buildings that have weapons stored in them? What do you think would happen to them if they did that? Secondly, Hamas have miles of underground tunnels to hide weapons in but they opt to hide them in schools, hospitals, churches and residential areas. That's the kind of beebs that they are. No respect for human life, including their own people.

That sentiment would absolutely be valid if it were combatant v combatant.

But it doesn't quite work if you factor in the 20,000 kids Israel has killed - they weren't "outfought" - just murdered.

Do feel free to continuing to justify the genocide of civilians.

I suspect their active supporters are a smallish minority. Looking at UK social media, I would say 80% of posts are strongly anti-Israel and anti-Netanyahu. There's no way Starmer and the British media (both of whom seem in hock to the Zionist movement) are accurately reflecting British public opinion.

Close your eyes.... Now imagine there's a hostage there.

Israel have no issues blowing up infrastructure (a university) that they had cleared of Hamas. It was just wanton destruction on the IDF's part.

In the IDF's eyes, every building in Gaza contains a command center, weapons cache and Hamas fighters. Even a movable command center that magically moved from under one hospital to another.

Interesting to see that you agree that Hamas' strategy is literally to sacrifice their civilians in the service of their ideology.

I think those are dangerous people who need to be taken out, because they will always keep on doing that. They will never change that mindset to begin taking an interest in improving ordinary Palestinians' lives. The current death and destruction is horrendous, but since that is Hamas' strategy, it looks like the only alternative for Israel would be to agree to sacrifice themselves instead?

Unless you have a better strategy for Israel in response to October 7th? Ask them nicely to stop?

I'm still waiting for just one poster to say what Israel should have done on October 8th?

Not what you think they shouldn't have done - we've had loads of those posts - but what they should have done that would have both got the hostages back and stopped Hamas from carrying out another Oct 7th in a few months or years? Or even one of those two, but bearing in mind that Israel is a democracy, so any government that hopes to be re-elected needs to take public wishes into account too. So something that comes down to "hoping they don't do it again" probably won't work.

The same logic could equally be applied to the IDF.

They even took videos and shared them widely so everyone could see their depravity.

Perhaps you (and certainly I) could never imagine doing this things to other humans.

But both Hamas and IDF have it drilled into them - Palestinians are "human animals" and "vermin".

But the IDF go further - they've murdered journalists, medics, nuns and surrendering civilians (and hostages). They've razed hospitals, schools, religious buildings - they even dug up graveyards.

They have raped captives, used human shields, tortured, held captives with no charge.

Those who think Hamas are bad and IDF good, then they're not paying attention.

There is only one nation in the Middle East currently before the ICJ accused of genocide.

Given some of the things that have happened in Syria, Yemen and sundry other countries, I don't think that makes the point you want it to.

well, the IDF could follow their normal modus operandi and use Palestinian kids to go ahead of them.
