Hoban off injured as well, the natives are getting a bit restless

Looks like Derry will need to win the cup to get Europe.

We are shocking. I've been saying it all season and folk in here think I was trying to be coy.

I knew we didn't have what it takes. Our form in the last couple of months should be sacking material.

A wasted season, with a tube at the helm of a squad with so much potential.

I dont think anyone thought you were being coy. Higgins should have been sacked on the spot after losing to a team from Gibraltar over 2 legs

Sligo. They are a very tidy side.
They should be kicking themselves they didn’t go for it against a fumbling Shels team.

How do they keep getting a license for this pitch? In the past 2 seasons now we've had 2 lads suffer bad ankle injuries and 1 torn ACL on it.

Don't care about the politics involved in getting it replaced. It's disgraceful and shouldn't be allowed.

Derry have to be made do something about that pitch in the Brandywell, every game there there's multiple injuries on it, not like they can claim they can't afford to do it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,518 ✭✭✭blackwhite

Keeper deserves the red for faking injury there. Striker pulled out before he got to him - little to no contact at all.

Dundalk going down this year is the ideal opportunity to outlaw plastic pitches in the Premier Division. Give Derry a year or two to put a grass pitch in the Brandwell and move on.

Rovers could potentially win this league on goal difference on the last day.

If the inconsistent teams remain inconsistent and Pats stay consistent.…Pats could win it 😁

Very frustrating from Bohs, score the peno and don't get a red card and they end Pat's title challenge.

Three Dublin Derby wins in a row for us. Game of two halves in Dalymount and you'd have been a brave man to have predicted the final score at half time. Bohs much better in the 1st half after the first 10 minutes or so, probably should have scored but didn't. 2nd half Tierney gets sent off for two yellows and we dominated after that and scored three. Tierney's sending off was definitely the turning point, both looked like fairly clear yellows and he was slightly lucky that the first one wasn't a red as he stamped on Sjoberg after he dragged him down.

Three matches left now and all still to play for.

    1. There's not multiple injuries every game. That's the first injury on it in a long time.
    2. The chairman can afford it, but we don't own the pitch and the owners don't want to go to grass just yet.

I hate it as much as you, in fact all derry fans hate it. But when you don't own your own ground, you can't make the decision.

Uefa pass the pitch for a few rounds of European football, so they must think it's OK to a certain level.

Quick question for any Bohs fans. Was there any programmes for sale tonight? I didn't see any sellers in the away end

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 11,425 Mod ✭✭✭✭artanevilla

Yes, normally there's a lad covering over there (including myself an odd time) but I think we were short on numbers tonight, I wasn't in until half 7.

Google credited Aidan Keena with the first goal for St. Pat's but read the report and saw it was by Forrester

If the top 6 were to take the same number of points from their remaining 3 games as they did from the previous 3, the final table would be:

    Pats 59

    Shams 58

Shels 55 (probably 3rd on GD)

    Galway 55

    Derry 54

    Sligo 53

That won’t happen of course. Or could it?

How important is the...questionable...penalty at home to Sligo now for Pats' title charge..

Rovers now 11/8 favs to win the league. Derry absolutely fcuked themselves over last night.

If Shels don't win Friday night then Rovers will win the league, even if they do, i still fancy Rovers for the title.

Derry have Pat's and Shels still to come so i would say they are the outsiders of the three now.

Since our charge pettered out, I'll now be cheering on Pats.

Or the Derry one v Rovers? Or the decisions we got v Sligo?

To be fair, no point going down that route, every team will have had a decision go for/against them across the season that could have made 'all the difference' and you'll only drive yourself mad over thinking it, we are where we are and just need to accept that.

Goal machines, 18 goals in their last 6 wins. Serious outfit. Have an owner with money in his pocket, some top young talent and probably the best manager in the league.

They'll be favourites next year to win the league and if they can add a couple of defenders to their squad they'll be very hard to stop

If Richie can stay fit, he still has a few years left in him

Way past his best now, wouldn't be a great signing for Pats

They’ll absolutely be in the conversation next year, but I think this season is as clear an indicator as to how short term form can’t really be relied upon.

Ourselves, Rovers and Derry will all be looking at what limited us from being consistently at our ceiling this year and trying to add that in the offseason, and I’m sure others will be adding to make a push also.

SK is a serial winner in that league. He'll know exactly what he'll need to win the league next year.

I'll be interested to see what Rovers do during the off season. Injuries fcuked the first 15 games or so of the season for them.

If i was player, who would you want to join? Pat's or Rovers. No brainer really, well assuming you'll get the chance for minutes.

Next season will be a cracking year. I followed Rovers for years when they first moved to Tallaght(even through the Scully years 🤣), but it's awkward to games now were i live and work commitments but i'll try to get to more games anyway

Players tend to join Rovers over Pats because they pay more. LOI players not at the level of wealth usually to leave money on the table.
