How to separate cached app photos from Gallery

    I changed to a phone with Android 14 and now the Gallery saves all sorts of cached photos from various apps there - which makes it next to useless for me in trying to sift through actual photos I've taken myself. How can I get these apps to dump their cached photos elsewhere/or not be picked up by Gallery?

    I have seen an option to switch off saving of photos for various apps - but I don't want to come at the problem that way - I just don't want Gallery to pickup cached photos.

    Is it a 3rd party gallery app or Google Photos? If 3rd party, there may be a setting. Google Photos would show whichever pics/videos you take and any other albums you select.

    It's Samsung's version - came preinstalled with the phone.

    Maybe try Google Photos to see if it's the same. If not, id switch. Possibly other gallery apps might be to your preference.

    Can you choose to hide the folders for each of those apps?
