I got a laugh at his pre match interview where he said Wade will drag you into a scrap. He probably didn't mean it to come out like that

A tough game to watch this.

Christ Van Den Bergh has some head for smacking

A set of quarter finals that won't live long in the memory

Humphries should take it from here you'd imagine. Presume Dimitri will beat De Decker

Sky couldn't stand the thought of another Dimitri cringe interview, so ended the show abruptly 😀

Probably for the best, and I say that as a fan of his

Some rabble in tonight, DVdB handled it well so far.

This seems to be posted at least once in every tournament thread 😅

7 legs on the spin for MDD. From 1 set down to 2 set up 👀

Don't understand why Dimitri won't switch to double 18 for the double start.

The double 16 has been a disaster for him.

From a big fish for Dimi, to a bull-bull finish for Mike!

    Throw your darts dimi twat

    Dimitri got what he deserved.

    Some ridiculous decision making.

Delighted for MDD, no crap about him and smiles a bit not like some more. Hope Joyce can somehow win now.

    Humphries is relentless here.

    Unreal darts.

Reminds me of the form MVG was in for the 22/23 World Championships until he was pipped in the final. Maybe history might repeat itself

Would be delighted for De Decker if he was to win it

In fairness to De Decker, he's been solid all week. I would never have predicted at the start of the tournament he would be in the final.

Would be great to see him win it but I just can't see it myself.

    Getting intresting now

Humphries throwing some stuff but De Decker not lying down

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,816 ✭✭✭TheChrisD

Trying not to get too excited. Remember Humph rattled off five on the spin and changed a two set deficit into a three set win at the Worlds...

where has MdD’s form come from, if this was athletics he’d be suspected of taking PED’s. 🤣

Great for darts that there’s loads of different players capable of winning a tournament

Makes a change from watching years ago hoping someone could fluke a win against Taylor

    TbL

I’m starting to warm towards Humphries, he’s got a touch of class/humility about him

    TbL

MdD needed that D16 badly if he lost that set it looked like he was imploding

Humph has definitely turned it back on. 4-3 and back on throw.

    • Luke Humphries (1) 4–6 Mike De Decker [3–2, 2–3, 0–3, 1–3, 2–3, 3–2, 3–1, 3–2, 1–3, 2–3]

    Brilliant final

    Delighted for De Decker

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,387 ✭✭✭Deeper Blue

    Great final

Fair dues to De Decker, would've been easy to fold when it went to 4-4

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,606 ✭✭✭shockframe

De decker has been around the big time about 18 months or so now.

It's a far cry from the likes of burnett,Walton, klaasen winning titles coming from obscurity when there was no mass tv coverage.

The existence of the pro tour all but ended that really.

Other than round 1 it had been one of the most disappointing majors for some time but that was an excellent final tonight.

Pleased for De Decker. He wouldn't have been my pick for any of the games bar last light but as impressive a run from an outsider as there has been.

    Great stuff from de Decker

Showed a lot of bottle from 4-4, and ok Humphries wasn't at his best, but he had a spell there in the middle of the game where he knocked in 3 big finishes and de Decker could well have folded

Takes a good player to beat someone like LH over the long set format (as oppoosed to the Matchplay or UK Open)

He won a floor tournament during the summer I'm pretty sure and has always been regarded as a good floor player who hasn't brought it to the stage

Now that he has, will be interesting to see where he goes

And LH - always gracious in defeat
