No attack on Iran yet. I presume Iran have a good idea which of their sites are going to be hit. I wonder is there anything they can do to protect themselves against what is coming? or are they completely defenceless?

Looks on the bright side lads it be worse, we could have 2 nuclear armed powers led by a genocidal lunatic partnered by a leader who needs help to eat his weetabix on a morning.

Well if you consider the violent rape of millions of German woman (and others) a peaceful withdrawal who am I to argue with you.

Nor would I argue to feeling a sense of relief the Americans are on German soil when we look East of there today.

And all oil rich countries in the Middle East could be high standard of living countries like Norway, but there are *reasons* they aren't.

Interesting. The Germans were bad, so it’s ok what the Russian’s did. I suppose by that metric Lenin was a pussycat. As for Stalin, a hero of yours one presumes.

A shameful point in history for the world, never ever to be forgiven by the vast major majority.

I suppose I can presume the majority of posters are going to take In a few refugees so, when this is all over, as it eventually will be.

According to research by Oxfam, more women and children have been killed by the Israeli military in the last year “than the equivalent period of any other conflict over the past two decades”.

That's a hell of an indictment.

No other nation on the planet would be able to get away with that kind of murderous slaughter without consequences.

There's a good opinion piece by Benny Gantz in the NYT about why Israel, and the west in general, need to take the islamist threat far more seriously than they have done. (Gantz, for anyone who doesn't know, resigned in June from the government of national unity set up in the wake of Oct 7th, due to disagreements about Netanyahu's war strategy - so this is not about blind support for Netanyahu or Liku policies, by any means. It is, though, about the potentially disastrous pressure on Israel to declare what would be a unilateral ceasefire, ie, to give up and let Hamas, Hezbollah and through them, Iran, win out.

The hymn sheet that says there are some wars that have to be fought because the people behind them are evil? That's right, Mr Chamberlain, sometimes you do have to fight.

Do you know how many French and Dutch civilians were killed by Allied bombing? ( Yes that's French and Dutch - not Germans). So were those war crimes committed by bloodthirsty criminals?

The new Nazis but this time they are best pals with the USA so who's going to stop them.

The rapes happened in '45 not when they withdrew.

And when I look to the east I dont see much threat. Well there wasnt one until the Yanks forced the Ukraine into play anyway. Russia attacking the west. Not even the clowns who drum that up in our media to jack up the arms industries actually believe that.

Israeli media seem to think that Israeli men have a rapey problem.

interesting article - thanks for sharing.

On first reading, seems Gantz is asking the world to clip Iran's wings (commendable).

I didn't note any condemnation of Israeli war crimes or accusations of genocide (though Gantz resigned because of his disagreements with the war).

So, he wants the world to rein in Iran but allow Israel total freedom to wage war in the region, kill as many civilians as it likes and turn all infrastructure to dust.

    I call "squirrel".

I found this article interesting (threatening the use of nuclear weapons and apparently threatening Jordan)

    https://www.newarab.com/news/israeli-threats-against-jordan-fm-safadi-proposes-peace-deal?amp

"Roni Mizrachi, a well-known Israeli contractor, told right-wing Israeli Channel 14 television last week that "what we’re seeing today in Lebanon will be in Jordan next”, claiming that Tehran could gain influence in the kingdom similar to what it has on Lebanese groups such as Hezbollah.

"I want to tell you… why we are all shortsighted. Because we see Lebanon today, in 15 years it will be Jordan, the next country where the Iranians will have interests," he said.

"Therefore Lebanon must be dealt with severely and the head of the snake must be hit. Iran should be hit with electromagnetic bombs - tactical bombs including atomic bombs - not to harm people but to hit their facilities. This is possible and we have the capability."

Hezbollah senior commander for missiles taken out last night. Along with a missile depot in South Beirut that cooked off for hours.

Not all bad news for the pro Palestinians, at home they are having an effect. I'm going to share more good news stories from both sides.

Well they did let their rapist soldier on air to defend his actions a while back. But it's OK, because he said he only had to answer to his God, I presume the same God who told them the land is theirs.

Excellent news. The less genocide fanatics living in Ireland the better.

Given they no issue wi th genocide, it's not surprising they see no issue with rape. A truly horrible country.

    That's basically naked anti-semitism.

If you actually took ten seconds to read the article the person says they are against Benjamin Netanyahu and the course pursued by his Government and are horrified by what's happening in Gaza.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,812 ✭✭✭yagan

Israel are genociding because they know they've got the US veto all day long.

The US public really don't have a handle on the situation other than Israel couldn't be the aggressor because there can only be one holocaust.

I've seen it mentioned often that erudite cosmopolitan Israel has been on the retreat since the influx of more conservative less educated Jews from the former Soviet states.

It was an orthodox Jew that assassinated Rabin because any peace deal would halt settler expansion.

I never once mentioned anyones religion. I don't care what religion they are. Yet again you seem to think anyone criticising genocide is anti-Semitic. It's amazing the lengths people will go to to try and ensure the genocide being carried out by Israel continues.

The less genocide fanactics in Ireland the better, i stand by that statement . She was removed from the SD party because she didn't agree with the parties support of Palestine. It doesn't take a genius to figure out why.

Do you understand why the Geneva convention was set up AFTER that war??

To STOP the mass death of civilians in war etc from ever happening again. Do you think israel shouldn’t have to stay within the parameters of the Geneva Convention??

It's not this post specifically but the casual accusations of anti-Semitism are really tiring on this and the other threads, it's notable that the same posters are completely silent when it comes to outright Islamophobic/anti-Arab racism too.

If they attack Iran it will be as serious mistake during the Iran attack many missiles passed thru the iron dome it turns out to the iron dome is full of holes the only reason there was only one causality is Iran attacked an airfield with few people there

If Iran choose to attack an army base or a city there could be many causalitys or they could attack a power plant

Israel is not America it can't afford to buy and setup unlimited missiles to arm the dome

Iran has new tech hypersonic missiles and income from oil sold to china I think Israel want to wipe out Hezbollah in Lebanon and destroy it's arm missiles stores

Missile tech and drones are getting more dangerous this is not good news for Israel

For political and economic reasons Israel must wrap up this war in maybe 6 months

If the democrats get elected they must show some pushback on Israel's obscene slaughter of civilians. Bibi is dangerous and an extreme conservative but even he must know this war has to end at school at point

This war is having negative effects on the Israel economy highly qualified people are leaving to work in other countries and to look for a peaceful life

Itan and China and Russia are growing closer in order to oppose the west
