You forget that Germany rolled Poland with the help of the Communists Red army.

That while the Polish were fighting hard but losing and going to lose, it is always neglected to point out that the loss of German armour to them in the first few weeks was stunning. That ended when the poles had to split their forces.

Poland would have lost against Germany but the German army would have been very quiet for 1940 without the USSRs help, France and the others would have been in a much better position to fight back.

Precisely. Hardly a strategic alliance Poland had with anyone right? Which is all I was replying to.

I get it. I didn't put enough anti Russian/Soviet sentiment into it. I leave that to ye guys. Knock yourselves out.

When we're taken over by "the religion of peace" - which eventually we will be, at some point in the future. When the "queers for Palestine " have all been executed. When you're walking around in your burkhas and not your penney's gear, get back to me. And let me know how the freedom of expression, worship, dress etc is in Gaza.

I love how your trying to justify genocide while pretending you're a "better" person than they are.

I've never said Israel was justified in killing thousands of people, just like I've not heard you condemn Hamas and admit that they are using the people of Gaza as human shields.

Unfortunately, Israel aren't accepting the human shield argument and are bombing the Hamas terrorists hiding in the apartment blocks of the people Hamas said they were there to protect. Civilians are getting killed in the process but Hamas don't seem to care about that as much as their western sympathisers do.

What would you like Israel to do. Put their hands up and say , no problem Hamas. We'll stop fighting you and let you build up your supplies again so you can invade Israel again and rape and butcher men ,women and children a second time.

It's obvious to some of us that Hamas don't actually care about the innocent civilians getting killed. They're collateral damage in a war against the nation it's sworn to destroy.

Quds Force commander Esmail Qaani may have been wounded in Beirut bombing - report

    By JERUSALEM POST STAFF   Published: OCTOBER 5, 2024 13:17Updated: OCTOBER 5, 2024 13:19

The possibility that Esmail Qaani, the commander of the Quds Force in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was wounded in an Israeli bombing in Beirut is being investigated, N12 reported on Saturday.

Qaani oversees Iran's terrorist and proxy affiliates in the region, N12 reported, noting that he may have been hit in an air force strike in southern Beirut, in the same attack that targeted Hashem Safieddine, Nasrallah's presumed successor.

Qaani succeeded Qasem Soleimani after the latter was assassinated by the United States in 2020.

If crying about antisemitism doesn't work just … clutch pearls about antisemitism again. No actual arguments yet again. It's all so tiresome.

"How many Christians live in Gaza and where did they come from? The number of Christians in Gaza has dwindled in recent years. Today there are only approximately 1,000 left, a sharp drop from the 3,000 registered in 2007, when Hamas assumed complete control over the enclave.Nov 1, 2023"

I'm an atheist, but anyone who thinks Hamas is a freedom loving organisation us seriously deluded.

And you think israelis bombing Christian churches in Gaza is helping? They targeted a Greek Orthodox church which is believed to be one of the oldest in the world and was crammed with civillians seeking shelter from the israelis.

israel deliberately bombing Christian sites in Gaza is going to reduce the number of Christians living there.

There has always been war in the Middle East. Since the Torah and Talmud and Old Testament, one crowd have been knocking the shite of another crowd and back again. If it wasnt with Scud missiles then it was with sling shots and arrows. It was the Ammonites or the Hitties, Philistines, Samaratians, Christians, Jews, Moors, wandering insurance salesmen and etc etc etc. If it wasnt one crowd then it was another. Until either the Poles invert or the trade routes change then its going to be one crowd knocking fifty shade out of each other for same patch of dessert. i say let them at it.

Gaza, 87% of school buildings have been hit or damaged, the UN says

Three schools sheltering displaced Palestinians in Gaza have been attacked over the past two days, killing more than 20 people.

UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarri said the agency helping refugees in Gaza has said "schools are not a target and cannot be used for any military purposes by anyone".

UNICEF, the UN children's agency, has said 87% of school buildings in Gaza have been directly hit or damaged since Israel launched its offensive following the October 7 attacks last year.

We are just defending ourselves, something something.

I had a number of arguments. You just ignored them all.

    But I’ll refresh.

Long known, well established antisemitic tropes like the Jews ruling the world are, well, just long known, well established antisemitic tropes.

If someone decides to regurgitate these tropes, well, that’s just an antisemite being predictably antisemitic.

You approve of such claptrap because you need someone else to rehash these idiotic ideas to validate your own antisemitism.

I understand why you ignored what I said. After all, you’re a conspiracy theorist who thinks the CIA and Mossad ran ISIS, and that Russia did great work in Syria.

You also hate the west apparently.

    Another blow for Sligo/Leitrim.

Always a pleasure, not my job to get involved in neighbours rows. I am too old to care. It has always been this way and always will. Why does it need our attention/money? I am not naive to the fact that the Rothschilds bought Israel or that Hamas dont send innocent men, women and children off to be suicide bomber. All sides are guilty of atrocities against eachother.

Ah that's alright then. Keep bombing the kids.

It's not their job to care. I think if posters don't care about those massacred on October 7th or in Gaza in the year since, that's not something to be proud of.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,003 ✭✭✭✭Sand

It's not that. The poster cares more than they pretend, because they're arguing for a position in a thread on a topic. When I don't care about something, I don't post about it.

The israeli lobby has for at least 80 years supplied arguments to support israel. "Never again!", "Made the deserts bloom", "Bulwark of civilisation against Islamic hordes", "Saving women and LGBT people", "Fighting terrorism here so you don't have to fight it there" etc, etc. Whatever your own political or moral leanings, the israelis will have a packaged set of arguments designed to convince you that their interests are your interests, and whatever israel does, its okay.

There will be teams of israelis working on identifying market segments they haven't yet activated and finding arguments to appeal to their bias. And they'll also be formulating arguments to keep people who they cant convert to support them, to at least stay deactivated, neutral, disinterested. The argument that "Oh, those desert people have always been killing each other. They're savages. Its the way of the world. Its nothing new. Don't care about it" is of that ilk.

As I said, you reasons for justifying and supporting genocide are fairly comical. And doing it while trying to paint yourself as being morally superior is even funnier.

Israel doing a great job at hiding damage from the 200 missiles. Unreal no footage of it out there

nearly all of the tunnels were built by israel during the full occupation era, they were built to hide military assets and move them around.

a few very crude and short tunnels were built by hamas but the main network was israely built.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

These aren't arguments. This is you reposting your teary eyed crying about antisemitism that means nothing to me.

After all, you’re a conspiracy theorist who thinks the CIA and Mossad ran ISIS, and that Russia did great work in Syria.

Yes, all true and well known Israel funded, armed and gave medical aid to ISIS. It is also well known that Russia and Iran put them down in Syria. You just hand waving me as a conspiracy theorist doesn't negate reality.

"The West" we keep hearing about over and over just refers to the evil genocidal maniacs that have temporary control of Western institutions. They aren't connected to me nor do represent me or my people. They are in fact openly hostile to my people and spread hideous antiwhite propaganda and the most twisted degenerate sexual propaganda through the institutions that are supposed to be used to improve our lives.

How are they supposed to show no damage? Invite the world's media onto an active airbase, to what end?

There has been satellite images taken and the damage looks minimal. A warehouse hit and a few impact sites away from buildings and runways etc..

The BBC ran an article 2 days ago titled "Missile attack on Israel lays bare deep divisions among Iranians", which carried a lot of the same old tropes about how winning is really losing and the Iranian people are hoping for the West to save them. One trope in particular stuck out:

"The missile attack has also diminished hopes for diplomatic progress with the West and other countries in the region."

That's quite odd to say, because the vast majority of the Arab world and indeed the "global majority" countries either don't care or are supportive of Iran striking back against israel. As an example, the Saudis - who were until recently arch enemies of the Iranians - sent their foreign minister, Prince Faisal, to meet Iranian President Pezeshkian in Doha, just 24 hours after Irans strike on israel. But maybe the Saudis were there to tell the Iranians how angry they were about the unprovoked aggression against israel? Nope. Prince Faisal is quoted as "We aim to permanently close the chapter on our differences and focus on resolving issues, developing relations as two friendly and brotherly countries."

Again, this 24 hours after the Iranian strike and the Saudis reaffirm their aim to make up with the Iranians. For whatever reason, I cant find an account of this meeting or the warm words on the BBC site. Either way, the Iranian retaliation is not going to cost them friends in the region. Quite the opposite I would think.

The other part of that BBC quote - diminished hopes for diplomatic progress with the West, is quite ironic too. Shortly before the Iranian strikes, the Iranian President Pezeshkian - who is often described as pro western - made some very bitter comments to the Iranian cabinet, where he said the USA had promised if Iran showed restraint after the israeli attack on Iran the US would secure a ceasefire in Gaza. He had believed them, and advocated for restraint but he nw realised the US offer was "entirely false". So even before the strikes, the supposedly pro western President realised diplomacy with "the West" was entirely impossible, that he had been lied to by the US.

I think what the BBC is really saying is the jig is up, and the US cant continue to fool the Iranians with lies about peace deals.

So with everything Israel has been up to all of a sudden they will tell us the truth about war damages.

Not saying there is much, not saying there isnt, how would anyone know what to believe or not? They could show us anything they want, tanned fit soldiers parading down the landing strips with sun shining, fully blown up airbases with dark clouds and ambulances running around. Its information warfare and I'd expect an agenda behind anything shown or not shown. Goes for their opponents too of course.

If there is anything that is for certain in a war is that the truth goes out the window first thing. Well, way before it starts even. Any war.
