I'm lucky enough to have a very nice house with a very handy mortgage. I do not envy people my age (early 40's) still renting.

The trick in this country is to have no (visible) money and have the System provide everything for you.

I work with a lady is coming up to retirement but doesn't want too (will probably keep going) as she is still renting, awful position to be in. She has no family either, so very difficult.

How can bloated Joe, with his. Almost half a million p.a. in "fees" empathize (with a straight face) with a retired soldier who's losing 100 euro per month in his pension?

"100 euro is a lot of money", says Joe. Joe could use 100 euro notes as coasters without costing him a second's distress.

TYFYS for Anthony. Who didn't go to The Leb as Joe called it. Must have spent his army career driving around after a Securicor van and handing out sandbags after a flooding.

We really are screwed. The pittance given to carers currently is like we are living under austerity, but when the next crash or crisis happens, and the magic money tree disappears, cutting that won't raise anything.

Meanwhile millions no, billions is being thrown into ridiculous causes. When that money is gone, it's gone.

Joe if you had stayed an RTE employee instead of setting up a bogus company, you would probably be on a pension of €75k a year now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,330 ✭✭✭✭2smiggy

says the man paid €350000 a year plus into a company so he pays as little tax as possible.

Joe's hatred of Civil Service and former Minister's pensions raises it's head again. He is soooo bitter he had to lose his RTE pension when he went contracting. . Wants it every way, does Joe
