Replaced graphics card, same issues happened again.

So a few months ago I posted a thread here about my PC not recognising my second monitor. I could only get one HDMI port working. I brought it to a local computer shop and they said it's the graphics card. I got a replacement, still had issues getting it to recognise two monitors. I brought it to a different computer shop, they didn't have display port monitors, but they did get it working with two HDMI ports.

I brought it home and connected it up with display ports. Initially, it didn't work at first, but then I realised I hadn't connected one lead correctly. Everything was fine until a few days ago when I noticed some flickering and one time, my computer blacked out, but restarting fixed it every time. Today, I noticed some flickering, I restarted the PC, but now I'm back to only one HDMI port working and I have no sound either.

Does anyone know how I can permanently fix this? It appears to be a software issue.

Definitely sounds like a driver issue.

Completely uninstall the previous driver, and install the driver for the new graphics card.

How do I completely uninstall the drivers? I presume I go to Device Manager but do I click uninstall AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX and how do I reinstall them?

Just to be sure, reseat the display port cable and the power cable. I'd also suggest swapping the cables between the two monitors, see if the issue stays with the monitor or the cables.

Since you mentioned DisplayPort monitors, how are you connecting them?

If the monitors are DP and the GPU is HDMI, you need an active converter. The simple DP to HDMI adapters can only work in one direction, from a DP GPU to HDMI monitor.

It's an AMD 7900XTX, so native DP.

For testing, you could boot off a USB Linux distro, see if it works out of the box like that.

This did the trick. I'm starting to think my old GPU wasn't faulty, and it was a software issue all along. My local PC repair shop is useless. He told me he could order a new GPU and install it, but that wasn't going to happen because I only ordered the parts a year ago. Wasted about €100 because he misdiagnosed the issue.
