Do you think that Israel's response to the Hamas 7/10/2023 atrocities has been proportionate, Bren?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,190 ✭✭✭✭Brendan Bendar

No ,but Hamas are dogs in this struggle too, they like to bed themselves in to the population and they

are not great at coming on to programmes to defend themselves. Given that they have as their aim to destroy Israel, I find it a little strange they are not mentioned in these interviews too much.

^^^ If Hamas were mentioned, this would not sit well with the lengthy NGO interview given on DT yesterday.

McInerney showing her complete bias against Israel as she tries to flash bang the Israeli interviewee.

Would let the lad speak about the atrocities back in Oct 23

Got her ass handed to her.

Heh heh she’s having a bad day.

Pat Davitt just handed her ass to her on the housing

She acknowledged the atrocities, Bren. They don't justify the Israeli atrocities since then.

If the Brits bombed the **** out of Dublin because of a Provo atrocity, would you feel that they were justified?

Have a listen there Breener bit of a set to at about 2.15 into the programme.

S McInerney could certainly learn from M Husain's calmer approach. Mencer had a new one torn for him without any flash bang.

Different styles much the same result, a 'spokesperson' revealed as a deflecting propagandist.

Exactly. These guys tend to hang themselves, no matter who is interviewing them.

Forgetting a work colleague’s birthday. It’s a minefield! Cue forced hilarity. Awful stuff

Thought Sarah handled the P. Doherty/P. O'Donoghue interview well, Insisting on letting each speak. Didn't let either away with spin or waffle.

It was also covered on Morning Ireland and the One O'Clock News. I think RTE missed a trick in not asking about Sinn Fein's promise to abolish Property Tax. Not much point in giving people cheap houses if they are going to be hit with Property Tax every year.

It goes back to the time when the tax was being introduced, and they called it the Family Home Tax. They should keep it as a policy because it would be a real vote winner. Worked for FF in the past.

"Sinn Féin wants a fair tax system, one in which all people and businesses pay their fair share. We want to scrap the Family Home Tax and Water Charges. We want to remove those on the minimum wage from the USC net. We also want to increase the overall tax take in a fair and progressive manner."

OEadra had Jim O'Callaghan on this evening regarding the school abuse redress scheme. OEadra put it to him about whether the orders could be compelled to participate in a redress scheme. O'Callaghan tried to explain that the constitutional protections around private property and religious property ownership would make it extremely difficult in his view to compel participation. O'Eadra started rabbiting on about Australia and taking aim at O'Callaghan for his position even though he was just explaining the current legal position, not giving his view.

Listeners need to understand why things are the way they are, not this point scoring nonsense that OEadra was at.

The Constitution can be changed if the will is there. There is no will or any sign of the government moving to compel these guys to at least pay proper compensation. The taxpayer will take up the tab for it as always.

In terms of the segment on the show, that's neither here nor there. O'Callaghan explained, quite well when he was let, why currently the orders could not be compelledto contribute to redress.

If OEadra had any cop he'd have let him explain and the situation and then ask him how he'd address it, including if he'd support a referendum to change property rights. Instead he went on about an irrelevant judgement in Australia and we garnered nothing useful from the discussion.

We don’t need Jim to tell us they can’t compel them, it’s horribly true. Embarrassing them by showing how other countries did it I support.

Par for the course on that programme Mr M , let nobody explain anything just keep interrupting and

trying to throw the interviewee off balance.

O’hEadhra and his sidekick have medals for it and the listener is left none the wiser after the event.

all they want is to try and get ‘a head’ and usually that is someone charged with trying to implement something whom they won’t let outline the issues involved.

Did anyone hear Sarah challenging Alan Farrell TD on childcare? Sarah said 'isnt that a bit last minute dot com'. Alan had to say 'excuse me'. And she repeated 'isnt that a bit last minute dot com'.

Is that just plain daft and unprofessional?
