    Oh…my…god.

    When the PS4 pro came out, I think I remember the OH was able to trade in the PS4 in Gamestop and giving something like €150 extra for the upgrade.

    It's their birthday in Nov and was hoping to surprise them with an upgrade but that amount of money before Xmas?

    I think Sony have priced themselves into oblivion with this one.

    Is it just me or was there little to no visual difference?

    I thought the same with the side by side comparisons - visually they didn't look that different. The fps increase in The Last of Us was noticeable alright. Trying to show off graphical upgrades over YouTube is probably not ideal either.

    Trying to think of some kind of justification here. Clearer background elements and fidelity mode visuals closer to performance mode fps. Is that it?

    A big bump in PSVR2 performance?

    Sony starting high for a Black Friday discount?

    They shoulda shipped Astro Bot with it at 800. 😂

    Is there a PSVR2 boost? I mean, that would be a draw if they supported the damn thing. The OH has barely picked it up due to the lack of decent games available.

    I went from PS3 to PS5 bit Im pretty sure there was a big improvement for PSVR from PS4 to PS4 Pro. Perhaps only for certain games.

    As far as your question goes Im just throwing out some possibilities to make this upgrade a bit more appealing. Cant say for certain yet. Hopefully more info released soon. Still a bit in shock at that price 😂

    Whatever about the disc drive as I know there are are some digital only users, the fact that a fűcking stand isn't included and will cost extra is beyond insulting.

    Disc drive is €99 so it's €898 excluding the stand. Bonkers, hard pass.

    I'm usually one for the latest tech, the PS4 Pro was a solid upgrade and the PS5 itself has some amazing improvements all around. It's easy to look at the Digital Foundry videos and spot the difference between quality and performance modes but when you're in game and flying around in Spiderman or Gran Turismo I'm willing to bet most people won't see a difference in graphics quality. I have a 75" TV and to be honest I'd be hard pressed to find noticeable differences in the graphics. If you're gaming at 60fps, it isn't worth dropping down to 30fps for you're not missing out on much.

    Maybe PSVR2 will benefit with higher framerates as 120fps is important for VR, but it's not for me.

    For someone with no kids, no missus and no other reasons to not spend money on things I like, I'm even finding it hard to justify. But, double storage (2TB), 45% overall more power, it kinda makes sense. The stand I'm assuming is for people who have a potential knock over situation, hopefully I won't need it. Disc drive I can buy later, so long as I have a few digital games to play through. Finally time for that replay of Control ans Ghosts of Tsushima! Cuz I won't be buying any games with it!!

    For me the issues with current gen is software rather than hardware related.

    Paying the best part of a grand for a slightly sharper image at 60fps seems insane but every pot has a lid I guess.
