I would have bought bagels but they arent listed on the offer. Was in yesterday again and got 3 packets of Glensallagh chicken breast slices and they didnt discount. Left two of them behind again as a result and have now given up on the offer as it just isnt working for me.

In better news Id been charged 99 cent for the free jellie babies on a previous shop and Lidl customer service put €2 on my account. Then the jellie babies did discount to free on the next shop. So for 99 cent I got €2 of jellie babies and €2 back. Its the small wins lol.

Thankfully my local have added a bit to the relevant sel's saying Save With Lidl Plus or something like that. The descriptions are too vague ("cheddar red") and the product codes too small to make out accurately.

How do you use an online only gift card in store?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,107 ✭✭✭✭thesandeman

Scan it on the Lidl+ yoke. Sometimes it won't scan so they will have to type in the number.

Does anyone have the Parkrun code this week, please? I didn't receive the email from them since last week.

Would be great if someone could PM me the code.

There's 3 different types of Bagels listed in the offer, check the Products Included section on the offer.

Celebrate with a FREE bar on Lidl Plus While stocks last

Wow - that bar has jumped a fair bit in the last 2 years... used to be 69c, now double the price at €1.39. I doubt it's entirely due to a cocoa shortage...

Begs a question what other super markets are doing for olympics ! Apart from making record profits

Different supermarkets target different things... Dunnes have had a Big Brands promo going for the summer while Aldi aren't into that BS and generally are the best value for most basics (either the same or a little cheaper than Lidl). As for Tesco, they've been going full on with their Clubcard prices, and often increasing the differential between Clubcard prices and 'normal' prices.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,107 ✭✭✭✭thesandeman

I've mentioned that in a few threads recently. Aldi (and even ScrewPerValu) have managed to mostly keep their choc price increases to a minimum. Lidl have totally taken the piss.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 351 ✭✭tx_tx

My guess is that it comes down to them having sourcing contracts with different renewal dates, so chocolate prices won't increase everywhere at the same time, but this is not indicative of them ultimately reaching different price levels.

This is a 100% (x2) increase on dark chocolate, so actually it won't stop there. Cocoa prices went up 300% (x4) and it's a big chunk of retail prices for these cheap bars.

Tesco also do their aldi price match by upping their prices to make sure they match aldi on what they forgot to increase in price for the last few years. Their value branded frankfurters jumped by something like 1.50 last year to match aldi's premium brand rather than their value brand.

Aldi's amazing six or whatever they call it is a real winner imo

I'm sure most of you here are aware but it has a thread here too: https://www.boards.ie/discussion/2058120540/aldi-amazing-grocery-six/p13

Now the individual mini bars are far better value since their prices haven't increased, even the big fair trade bars are cheaper per weight. I remember like a month ago they had white label chocolate for 70c at 100g though

Parkrun treats are gone to pot; single piece of fruit or an item on Lidl plus anyway..

Got the mushrooms today; wasn't impressed

It's enough to make me consider stopping doing my Parkrun every weekend.😓

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,707 ✭✭✭Nollog

Careful now. Any complaints at all and they'll cancel it outright.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,038 ✭✭✭✭OmegaGene

I picked up the mushrooms the other day and they were lovely in the airfryer, the park run freebies are just a little treat as a reward for the runners, personally i prefer the PARKRUN stuff over 30% off from Lidl on red hen nuggets
