Where does that say I was fine with it.

I said their UK fans are more important to them than we are.

That doesn't say I'm fine with it.

Westlife would probably say that their irish fans are more important to them then their UK fans. As westlife are from ireland.

This is a different point anyway.

It unfair that only some irish people received the ballot email. Again, its unfair.

I was in the queue last week for a concert in the UK. I didn't receive an email last night

Why are you assuming I didn't try to get tickets for a UK gig last week?

I did. I was in the queue on Saturday for a UK oasis gig for ages.

I didn't receive a ballot email this week

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 308 ✭✭Titanium11

Why say this with such utter certainty without even asking the person you're talking to if they tried to get tickets for a UK gig.

    You know, ASK first.

I did try to get tickets for a UK Oasis concert last week.

I know other irish people who tried to get tickets for a UK oasis gig last week, and none of them have received a ballot email today either.

I think it has to be used with the registered email address.

I asked my friend there. They were in the queue for UK concerts last week.

They didn't get a ballot email last night.

So what is it based on?

    It's all so random!

Did you have to try via Ticketmaster.co.uk? I did that way and got the email

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 650 ✭✭✭Bulmers

I only tried for Dublin via .ie .

Only other thing can think is I was doing it on my work laptop which would show UK IP info, maybe something to do with that. I didn’t even try any UK gigs

I queued on ticketmaster.co.uk and no email.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 253 ✭✭champchamp

Sounds like this is as big a mess as the original ordering shambles.

no problem. I seen Them in Wembley Arena in 1997 so would love to see them at Wembley again. In the throws of babies and pregnancy for their final tour so feel I never said goodbye to them! It does seem random and unfair though. I may not even get a code though!!

Why did you assume I assumed you didn't try to get tickets for the UK gig?

Your post said it's unfair that people who logged into UK Ticketmaster get the email and not those that logged into IE Ticketmaster. I said that was fair as you needed to use UK Ticketmaster to try buy tickets for Oasis UK gigs.

Just checked and got sent an invite yesterday evening, I was trying on the .ie website.

    You wrote:

. "So if you weren't already trying to get tickets for a previous gig in UK then you are excluded"

Without any punctuation in your sentence , I read it that you meant , "if you weren't trying to get tickets for a GIG in the UK".

    Maybe you meant something else.

    Punctuation is key.

So you are saying - that it is fair that people in Ireland who used the UK ticketmaster site last weekend, get offered more chances to buy tickets, but not people in Ireland who used ticketmaster.ie last weekend

    Why exactly?

And also we have an Irish poster above who said that he did queued on the ticketmaster.IE website for an Irish concert, but his laptop had a UK ip address, and he got the ballot email.

Not everyone who queued is getting an invite to the ballot

Two friends of mine tried for Dublin dates last weekend and they both got the email this morning

I got the email and I never once tried for a UK date or logged in via Ticketmaster UK. I'd say its just those who originally tried to get the presale codes before and were unsuccessful and it's just worded the way it was sent to all regardless

    I got a ticket!

I wanted to go so badly and kept missing out on the ballots. It's my birthday coming up so a couple of people decided to help pay for a ticket for me on viagogo , for my birthday present.

I paid for half of the ticket and they paid for half the ticket.

    I'm going by myself.

Im Just so happy I got a ticket! I just hope the ticket is legitimate now , that'll be another worry. You can never be totally sure on viagogo. But hopefully It will be...

    Didn't get an email

**** em at this stage ha

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 308 ✭✭Titanium11

I don't know if anyone's interested, but tickets are a bit cheaper on viagogo for Oasis this week.

I checked all Oasis Uk dates on it last week and most of the tickets were starting at 700 euro. Which was way too high

I checked back This week, theyve added new tickets , and there are tickets for Wembley on viagogo for 410 euro now

If Ticketmaster are being slated for platinum pricing, people should realise that those selling them on Viagogo are even worse. Touts buying tickets to immediately sell them on. I wouldn't give the scumbags any money.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 308 ✭✭Titanium11

    I absolutely agree with you.

It just seems that there is no other way to get tickets these days.

As ticketmaster have the total monopoly

So I think I'll do it for one band.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,699 ✭✭✭thecretinhop

Yes I got email and I was nowhere near UK dates

Scalpers and touts will always exist and be swines.

Ticketmaster are supposedly the legitimate source of event tickets yet they're actively seeking new ways of screwing their customers.

Oasis tickets were expensive, by all accounts it's mild compared to ticket prices to similar concert in the United States where incidentally TM and their parent company live nation are embroiled in a massive anti trust case.

There have been plenty of posts on this site about how I demand pricing is the way of the world and nothing can be done. There has to be a tipping point at some stage and hopefully we're seeing the beginning of changes being implemented.

    Glazers Out!

If I get in to get tickets I'll get two and resell them here for face value

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,329 ✭✭✭splashthecash

I got a link to the presale ballot for the two new London gigs as I was unsuccessful last time...if I enter this, would that mean I wouldn't be able to join a similar ballot should more dates be released for Dublin?
