Hi all. Anyone have experience of purchasing new iPhones on adverts? There are lots of accounts with immaculate feedback selling iPhone 15 pro max (brand new) for ~€1050

It's a good bit cheaper than the usual retail options. I know they are probably imported but they are still authentic and work as well as the Irish stock?

I have bought my last 3 iPhones from trusted dealers on Adverts and had no issues whatsoever. Look for dealers with good feedback and longstanding accounts.

same here, last 3 have been brand new sealed.

I’ve bought MacBooks also, the reason for cheap macs seems to be not paying vat, maybe same for phones…

No reason but discount the above but also be careful. I bought one off an adverts seller who also has physical stores and immaculate feedback. Came with 12 month warranty and after a couple of weeks the battery went. They replaced it but after a short while the replacement batter expanded and pushed the screen out. Apparently because this was a replacement part it wasn't covered under the initial warranty and I had to pay for the repair. Few weeks later there is a rattle in the phone. I brought it back and they refused to even acknowledge that they sold the phone. Got very aggressive with me so I left it and brought it to a local shop and just paid them to replace the battery.

They asked me where I got it done previously and showed me the battery. Cheap chinese one that wasn't even for an iphone. So just be careful I'd say. I can private message you the name of that seller if you like.

yes, I’ve bought loads over the years.

Do the normal research on the seller and if a shop, then collect from them.

how are they managing to be cheaper on adverts if a legit phone? Can't imagine they are buying in bulk for example

I can get my hands on loads of phones as I manage the corporate account in work with a network provider, get a certain amount each year(approx 60 handsets) I could sell them if I do wished if surplus to requirements, that's one way.

I don't though, usually end up giving them to staff some of whom use as presents for teenage kids etc. it's like a free bonus. Or keep a few as spares if anything happens to staff phones. I do make sure to draw everything down I am entitled to though.

They are ex vat too so even bigger gap if I was to flog them.

    Bulk buy.
Buying in another jurisdiction with lower or no vat etc

I Had to get 3 iPhones (16P and 16PM) from adverts sellers this month. Needed receipts so bought from the usual tech shops in town that advertise on adverts.

The 16P was €200 cheaper than apple and the PM was about €250 cheaper.

Once paired and data transferred, you get the usual Apple TV, exercise and music free for 3 months. Warranty is registered and options for AppleCare+ in there. We run our own sims in them, hence the reason for buying straight out but when I ran the office many years ago, we could upgrade for free nearly monthly. Not as much as BB above mind you, maybe about 15 per year but we were tied to a specific network and bill for them.
