1st time seeing them(fan since the early albums) and they were great, obviously would prefer more older tunes but that won't happen. Knew we'd get the guest appearances for we pray. Would have preferred a better end songs after fix you (or end on that). Also need to ask was the guy on the screen with the Radiohead t-shirt a boardsie ha

Great night but thought the one 5 years ago was better, bit slow In the middle when they played we pray and the one After as everyone sat down for them but were soon back on their feet, everyone around me where non Irish and it made it a great night, love to go again the next couple of nights, the visuals were unbelievable, they came on about 8:45 so was dark the whole gig

It was played. It was a great gig, I know some here complained about the staging but it works well when you’re there. 2nd time seeing them on tour and I’d go again on the next one.

it started at 8:45 and ended at 10:45 for those wondering.

ASFOS was on the set list, it was a few songs before Fix You.

Great gig, worth all the hassle of trying to find tickets the past few weeks!

Agree with the poster above, show in 2017 was much better with ALOT more fireworks, stronger setlist also, they have gone a bit overboard on the ECO stuff, plastered everywhere.

That being said, first part of the show was amazing, really got the crowd going and the light show was pretty cool, kind of drifted a bit in the middle and then kicked into gear again, Sparks was a treat.

Couple beside us got engaged during yellow which was so nice to witness.

have to laugh at the eco nonsense. It's the same with f1. The largest emissions comes from all of the fans coming to one place for the weekend.

If Coldplay were actually concerned for the environment, they'd stay at home 😂

Ya its a bit OTT, I was in the stands, but after grabbing a bit of loo roll from the toilet, you'd nearly feel obliged to go down and jump on the power bike for a few mins 🤣

Were the acts on before Coldplay any good?

To anyone who attended - did Chris Martin mention anything about the charity show?

Any info on the famous all important “list” that we have to get on, is welcome - dm me please.

No issues with the Croke Park sound or the views on the night. We were high up in the Davin Stand but still good seats. Traffic getting out was a bit mental. We were heading north for the M1. If you have a way of trying to avoid getting on to the M1 from the Croke Park area use it, took us ages to get back out, eventually coming out by Beamiunt hospital.

I wonder did they stop the song and ask everyone to put away their phones lol

There really is something about that band… I have literally hated that viva la vida song since it was released 15 years ago or whatever, but live it is incredible! One of the very few acts that can get the entire stadiium rocking. I wouldn't be their biggest fan, but that show is brilliant. Great to have it at the end of August so we get the full light show, spectacular!

They really are the most commercially driven group since U2 - very obvious and cynical play into the various religion markets with "We Pray", one of the worst songs I've ever heard - and we got the extended version🤣

Apologies if already asked but is Croke Park cashless similar to the Aviva for drinks etc?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 115 ✭✭TheIrishPC

They did, but people still recorded anyway anyway. I actually was recording it in my pocket to take out to record during the song, but I must have accidentally hit stop recording when I did that as I only have the pocket recording… loads of fireworks and all

they do take cash in a lot of places - but you need a bit of it as nothing is cheap

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 6,134 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

yes and thhey did ask to put phones down did help for a while - it should happen more

Aly Coulibaly was decent, and Maggie Rodgers was great. Personally I think Coldplay should have only had Maggie Rodgers as support, and then they could have started at 8. They easily could do a 2 1/2 hour- 3 hour show with their back catalogue and new stuff

A mate of mine just told me , His sister went into her TM account just to make sure her 4 tix for Sunday were there.

    They were gone.

She contacted TM , they told her that her account has 'resold' 163 tickets !!!!.

Her tix are gone…. TM will reimburse her , but she has no tickets for Sundays gig !!

    ffs…

We are in the same section 734 Upper Hogan & also would like to know what the view is like as I know with the AC/DC stage set up these seats should have been sold as restricted view….
