In fairness the more I thought about it, the more I realised it would be damn near impossible to get that many lights around or under the vent holes and in such a way that it wouldn't affect the vent itself.

I just loved the pulsing lights on the PS5 and think they're a great feature (especially for reminding me the PS5 is in Rest Mode in case I go to turn it off at the plug, where the PS5 sh*ts itself when starting back up).

I'll probably wrap this up towards the end of the week, so if anyone still wants to vote, try do so in the next few days. Currently very, very tight between the top three.

1.PS1 - gorgeous piece of design that gave an air of being a high quality futuristic piece of kit (even if the CD drive was anything but high quality). Sony had some top of the line industrial design during this era.

    2. GameCube - it was cute and had an air of play about it. Wonderfully compact design and even had a handle to let you carry it to your mates.

    3. PC Engine - the smallest console ever made. It had a tiny form factor despite being a very capable piece of kit but was no less stylish. Love the credit card size game cards.

    4. Super Nintendo (Japanese/EU) - far better looking than the travesty they got in the US. Lovely sleek rounded design and the use of colour was much better than the ugly grey and purple of the US.

    5. Megadrive - a console with looks that fell right in line with Sega's targeting of an older teenage demographic. Sleek, dark and emphasising the teenage angst or the grunge era. The perfect console for that time period.

    6. NES - despite the cartridge mechanism ruining the cartridge connector with a few weeks it did feel great inserting a cartridge and pressing it down. Has a great form factor and love how the ridges are carried over to the cartridges.

    7. Atari 2600 - faux wood effect screams the 1970s.

    8. Dreamcast - it's like a lesser SNES but still looks great.

    9. Nintendo 64 - always liked the contours on the top. It did exude it's potential power over the 32bit competitors.

    10. PlayStation 2 - ok I'll eat my own words here. I don't like the design but it's certainly unique and that a lot better than the boring designs of everything else in that picture.

I think you mean the PC Engine is 10th place, because the US turbografx variant is **** awful!

Series X/S, One X are very elegant consoles and silent. They deserved a better chance.
