Until we start talking about MALE violence, instead of allowing each group of violent men to exploit each instance of male violence for their own agenda, we're not discussing the real problem: violent men.

The reason not too many people are interested in talking about MALE violence, is because it’s no different than any other fallacious association, and everyone’s entitled to make their own fallacious associations, which are just more popular than the concept of MALE violence.

It’s for this same reason that not too many people are interested in talking about violent men - it’s far easier to believe that the perpetrator was motivated by something which supports that person’s prejudices - be it religion, ethnicity, politics, etc.

It wasn’t me, but that line of reasoning you’re referring to is generally put forward by incel types who equate physical violence with emotional abuse within the context of domestic abuse, and then try to extrapolate from that broad generalisations to support their belief that women are just as violent as men. The reason the MALE violence concept is fallacious is even more simple - while you’ll get no argument whatsoever from me as to the fact that the vast majority of violent crime is committed by men, it’s not the same thing as attributing violence to males as though males are inherently prone to violence. There’s no credible evidence for that hypothesis, it’s a fact that the vast majority of men are not violent, let alone towards women.

Picking an individual case which supports your prejudices only demonstrates your ability to do the same thing as you’re critical of other people doing and suggesting that unless everyone talks about an issue from yours (or their) perspective, we’re all going to get nowhere and the violence against women shall continue unless we all agree to their demands to enforce policies against whole groups in society based upon their prejudices against those groups.

No name has ever been released until the person has been charged (and probably not if under 18). Do you want the police to release names of every person they arrest?
