Salt in wrong place - is this issue?

Stupidly I listened to where my mother in law said to put the salt and I should have known better myself, so my bad. I put it in the small white tube rather than the bigger square blue one. I managed to get half it out but there is about half a metre lower down full of salt balls which I can just touch with the tips of my fingers with my arm jammed in the pipe half way between my elbow and shoulder. Is the remaining salt in here an issue?
