I would suggest a drinking game based on their usual catch phrases, but it could be fatal.

Why do the "neutral" articles keep posting that Musk is the richest person in the world when we know the rothschilds are worth 10s of trillions.

"Interview". To mangle a quote Eamon Dunphy, it'll be the first time many will have seen sex between two men.

Of course it'll command millions of views, half of them slowing down to watch the car crash, and both men will feel validated by their stream of consciousness of pure vitriol.

There have been plenty of studies that show the path to radicalisation through social media.

Also kind of blows a hole in the advertiser suit.

He's more of a Nazi IMO. Pretends to care about free speech while happily trying to stoke violence knowing none of it will affect him.

The irony being that I'm not even all that far left. That said, this wouldn't be far off the mark:

    Hopefully this is the one

Today, the Commission confirmed that the platform’s ability to respond to disinformation about the events in the UK could be taken into account when it is drafting its conclusion and deciding on a consequence following the investigation.

Electioneering from our EU puppet politicians and media pushing a narrative to blame social media and deflecting from their own incompetence over migration and housing issues. They are waiting on the EU (since may) to bring in new stricter DSA laws. So trying to justify the laws now before they are enacted!?

Our Politicians and MSM give more weight to keyboard warriors than they deserve. I know Elon is not helping things in the UK by retweeting and inflaming the posts. Fanning the flames of unrest in the UK.

He got caught out to day promoting fake news.

Musk shared a fake headline — purporting to be from the Telegraph newspaper — that said U.K. PM Keir Starmer is "considering building 'emergency detainment camps' on the Falkland Islands" to house far-right rioters arrested in the country's round of race riots. ~~

    https://www.politico.eu/article/elon-musk-share-fake-news-uk-rioters-detainment-camp/

On fake news, it was fake far right call out for riots in locations in UK, last night. That mobilised anti-racist folks to come out and support/protect their communities, I assume that action was a result of social media in action for the better? ~~ Source.

    https://www.spiked-online.com/2024/08/07/the-british-elites-crazy-rage-against-elon-musk/

The reason Britain is going to **** is not because of any internal rot but because a billionaire in Texas said ‘civil war’ on the internet. Glad we cleared that up. Even worse than the great and the good’s shameless deflection tactics – where they try to pin the blame for their own failures on a foreigner with money – are their tinpot solutions to this supposed problem.

@Babyreignbow Journal article above where Ireland with the EU is using the UK problem as justification for the new laws and further erode our online civil liberties. Authoritarianism in action in UK, and probably here as well soon?

@ancapailldorcha Striked it out, tempted to edit out but let it stand.

It's funny how when I quoted the scene from V yesterday you were kind enough to fix it. I linked it as a reference to how one person can have influence over the masses and stoke civil unrest, which is exactly what Musk is doing and all as part of his 'vendetta' against the 'woke mind virus'. The guy does think he's playing out scenes from movies where he gets to be the protagonist the whole time. Jordan Peterson literally sat down with him and mused over Campbells Hero's Journey in an attempt to dissect where he's at right now. The guy is pathologically dangerous given his wealth power and ability to influence so many.

The difference is that V was fighting against dicks like Musk.

In the near future, Britain is ruled by the Norsefire political party, a fascist and totalitarian regime led by High Chancellor Adam Sutler, which controls the populace through propaganda, and imprisons or executes those deemed undesirable, including immigrants, homosexuals, and people of alternative religions.

Make no mistake, Musk is the bad guy in this movie.

You do realise that most people get their news nonline nowadays. And it's not directly from MSM sources. It's from social media sites. Like Twitter and facebook.

tell me, are you on social media. Where did you develop your beliefs? Was it online? Or was it offline through books and magazines?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,382 ✭✭✭corkie

@Babyreignbow Just because I thanked your posts and can accept your viewpoint, doesn't mean I have to agree with them. As far as I am aware Elon is not a person in power in any country. FanBoys of himself give him more credit for influence over things. His tweets have been picked on even here. People take his crap/joke posts to seriously.

Elon Musk On The Big Bang Theory.

@Grayson Fairly obvious I use social media going by my posts and sharing tweets etc. As most people I am probably influence by all forms of Media MSM and social. But I can view each with a critical point of view. Just have a look at threads I have started how critical, I have been of the DSA since April. I'm in my mid 50's so not new to the online world.

I agree that Musk is taken too seriously, the worse thing for people like him is to be ignored. Soon enough he’ll be seen for the conman that he is and the public toilet he both will become little more than a classier 4chan.

    An example: -

    https://www.euractiv.com/section/politics/news/europes-teenage-tiktok-terrorists-target-taylor-swift/

Neumann noted links between the attacks and social media usage, as 15 of the 27 attempted or successful attacks in Western Europe since October 2023, involved the radicalisation of teenagers online, according to his account.

“I call them ‘TikTok jihadists’, although it’s not just TikTok,” Neumann stressed, pointing to the video platform’s young users and their exposure to algorithm-based content, while also mentioning encrypted chat service Telegram.

“In North Rhine-Westphalia, the last four or five [terrorist cases that we uncovered] were all 14-, 15-, 16-year-olds,” the former MEP told journalists

Where is the responsible parent supervision of these teenagers. I have issues with the DSA effect on adult online liberties but in favour of it's attempts of protecting and shielding minors, from the above.

Editing here instead of creating another post!?

    https://www.rte.ie/news/business/2024/0808/1464108-x-to-pause-using-european-user-data-to-train-ai-systems/

    • The undertakings were given by Shelly Horan Bl for Twitter, who said that the processing of the relevant data will cease tomorrow morning at 10 30am.
    • The judge welcomed the undertaking, which she said met the requirements of protecting the GDPR rights of 'X' users.
    • The nature of the orders sought were wide and far reaching, she added and if granted could result in Twitter being unable to provide its X account services to users in the EU/EEA, counsel said.
    • The judge adjourned the matter to a date in September.

So they may not be able to get at twitter/'X' through the lame #DSA as of yet, but sure have the power to do so with GDPR! Why did Elon bundle Grok into premium versions of 'X'? It is still called twitter here for the international EU version.

    End of Edit?!

Will be for some different thread to discuss that. Reasons are e.g. parents are not internet savvy, parents working several jobs ....

Anyway, musk's lawsuit has to be dead in the water every day again. The owner himself amplifies fake news on a daily basis.

On twitter someone pointed out that musk has to proof that the advertiser's colluded to not advertise on X . This is what Musk wants to proof. Here his 4D chess skills become clear.

He is the one that organised the advertiser's to not give him money. This proofs beyond doubt that there was collusion! Checkmate!!!!

Thing is a lot of things that the digital services act is dealing with is the reality that social media platforms aren't particularly transparent on how and why content is promoted. Given the fact Musk appears to be using Twitter to intentionally promote political disinformation then that's guaranteed to have him fall foul of laws. And that's not gonna be limited to the EU.

It's all he does. He's famously addicted to Twitter. He was in a hotel once and demanded that the staff keep his phone only to then demand it back.

How long can people keep believing the sh!t they read on social media? There has to be a point where they start recognizing things aren't true or haven't happened as predicted. Or will it be a case that the crazier ideas will become more attractive.

Why? The whole point of social media is to enrage people for "engagement". I watch a video on the UK riots from a sensible channel and Youtube's algorithm responded by pushing Nazi content into my feed. For one video.
