I don't think you would ever tell a Chinese-American person he doesn't qualify as Asian.

Yet you seem quite happy to state a young Black man is not African because he grew up in Britain.

It only took about two years of telling people they're all fascist thugs before they actually started acting that way.

This issue of immigration is becoming a serious problem across the continent at this stage and is creating civil unrest seemingly everywhere.

More robust policing won't deal with this because there's so many people involved now that the judicial system would be backed up for a couple of years just dealing with the people involved in violence thus far nevermind what's coming down the road as this continues.

Inward migration needs to become a lot stricter in order to calm this, not just letting everyone in and waiting for a few months to a year to see if they're genuine or not. The immigration system as it currently exists gives credence to every replacement theory out there so it's time for our leaders to show some leadership and accept that things have changed drastically due to the failings of their systems.

We can't see this type of thing continuing and getting worse, Western social cohesion has never been so close to collapse since the end of WW2, something needs to change ASAP.

    Glazers Out!

It seems very convenient to call people African when this kind of thing happens, and yet less common when they're winning medals etc for Britain? Wonder why that is? I don't for a second believe it's because people are being sensitive to their cultural heritage FFS. Load of BS.

There’s no racial insensitivity there, only your own efforts to introduce a racial argument that doesn’t exist. If you can’t tell the difference between British and African nationalities I don’t think even pointing to a map would help. Rather I suggest you take it up with the British Home Office.

Thread has devolved into old White guys deciding who qualifies as African and who dosen't 🤔

I'm done. If you need me I'll be on Reddit where it's not the 1950s anymore.

This issue of immigration is becoming a serious problem across the continent at this stage and is creating civil unrest seemingly everywhere.

It’s not immigration is creating civil unrest, it’s violent thugs who aren’t getting their own way are creating civil unrest, and the new measures announced by Kier Starmer are a means to address the issue of violent disorder. It should’ve been addressed by the Conservative Government when they were in power, but they seemed more interested in gutting public services like the police force and the justice system:

Except it's the issue that's mobilising people these days.

The violent thugs targeting hotels housing migrants aren't just there by chance.

If someone said that the grass was green you'd disagree, typical contrary nonsense as always.

It’s true, violent thugs targeting hostels housing migrants aren’t just there by chance; they’re there because they’re violent thugs engaging in criminal behaviour while trying to convince anyone who isn’t bothered to entertain them that they should feel threatened by immigrants.

You can see where there might be a flaw in their reasoning?

Correct, they have been gas-lighted and manipulated for years now

Thought you'd left? You had everyone worried for a minute there!

Thank goodness you changed your mind.

Hang on, I'll let everyone know the good news.

At the of the day no matter what one thinks of the thugs it's clear that western Europe as a whole can not continue on the path it's on in relation to immigration. It's not sustainable and it leads to growing resentment in communities migrants are normally put in to while wealthier areas are by and large untouched (and it's people in these areas that do the most moralising and lecturing). Always going to lead to trouble.

    Something has to change.

its not that hard to manipulate a population which has been subjected to regular attacks from what was a foreign culture, and is now growing and ghettoizing nationally without much sign of slowing.

While the locals are either declining in number or just not keeping pace.

If you really want to throw fuel on the fire allow exactly what is happening with the small boats.

An illegal invasion (yes it is both) just watched over passively, while their taxes have funded one of europes, and the worlds, top navies. For nothing it would seem.

I know some cant understand this, but to the law abiding, working joe its beyond ludicrous.

This used not be. Why is this allowed.

And now if they call this madness out theyre suddenly far right.

Given that aready people in the UK have been arrested for silently praying in public, further restrictions on demonstrations might paper over the tensions of recent events but will likely kick this down the road.

Ahh now Manach, bit of context wouldn’t have hurt anyone:

Isabel Vaughan-Spruce was charged with “protesting and engaging in an act that is intimidating to service users” in a censorship zone around an abortion facility on Station Road in Birmingham in December after she admitted to officers that she “might be” praying in her mind.

Besides, in any case unless it turned into violent disorder, it’s not going to be an issue that will need to be dealt with by the new measures being announced today.

Four posts in and the defending of the far right is exactly what I expected to see here.

You don't want to be associated with fascist/racist/bigots, then stop behaving like, associating with and supporting fascist/racist/bigots.

You all seem to to have more of an issue with these people being called out for what they are than you have with what it is they are doing and have been doing for the last 8 years or so at this point.

The UK is crumbling on the back of what was called 'Project Fear' by those who advocated for Brexit and who are still involved and are key players in inciting this 'uprising'.

To see people from Ireland flying the irish flag beside some of these people as they fly the Union Jack while the former group talks about 'Keeping Ireland for the Irish' and the latter group still claim part of the island as their kingdom has me shaking my head.

There is nothing wrong with being far right or far left and anything in between, they are political views, and last time I checked free speech and opinions were still allowed.

The post you quoted is from 4 days ago and it responded to one which Starmer was going to introduce calls to restrict the movements of one particular group with certain political views. That in my mind is a dangerous precedent for a so called free country to be embarking on.

That being said, I don't and I'm sure nor do others condone any violence towards the police, other citizens or damage of property. But just because we feel a certain way, doesn't mean you can tar us all with the same brush as those throwing objects or causing mayhem.

I'd say Sky News getting their biggest viewing numbers since Gulf War I.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,279 ✭✭✭calculator

I've been watching a bit of it and there's remarkably little actual content. Endless repeats. I know it's Sky but it's pretty tedious to see/ hear the same thing every 5 minutes!

Always with your blinkers on. Ignorant to reality as usual.

Why were they arrested for "silently praying"?

Started watching again. Nuts altogether. Scrotes.
