Where to dump old books

Charity shops often don't want to take large piles of books I've found - was clearing out a load for my mother after filtering away any with significant resale value. One IKEA moving box full per shop was sort of their limit. Anything in the junk novel category did go in the recycling bin as the shops are crammed with them already.

There's lots of little wooden boxes around Dublin where people leave & take old books, there should be one near you, they're in most urban areas.

I always give books to charity shops and they all, with the exception of one, take them without any issue at all. They are fantastic places to give and to receive.
