    Hi,

I have a dell optiplex 3020. it had a small capacity SSD drive. I have purchased a larger one.

I can fit it no problem I think I have backed it up properly and when I try to boot from USB where the back up is I am getting nothing.

I have read online and I dont seem to have the UEFI boot option but can set it to boot from USB in the bios menu

    Anyone any ideas?

    How did you clone it?

Assuming the cloning was done correctly, hammer the F12 key after you hit the power button and you should have a menu to choose from

Don't boot from USB. It's never trivial and it's even worse on machines with tricked out BIOSes such as Dell… Just be sure to clone the original drive - do a 1:1 copy and then physically replace the old drive with the new. Place the new drive in the same slot as the old one was. Don't leave the old one connected; remove it. If the machine boots place the old drive in the USB caddy.
