If you think there are a lot of burger joins here, try Germany, it's like the states

You have a plethora of food options here just like anywhere

    KFC is overrated.

The real winner is Arkansas Fried Squirrel.

Domino's failed to get a foothold in Italy.

In a place with great native pizza, why on earth would they want to eat American muck?

Weve enough tacky fast food joints attracting scumbags.

There’s a popular seafood based fast food chain in Germany called Nordsee which I found decent enough. I’m sure if it would take off here though.
Out of the American chain restaurants I would love to see an Outback bbq red open in Ireland. I tried it when I was in Brazil and I thought it was good, especially the Blooming Onion with dip.

You can make that in the air fryer

    Ireland is bereft of bbq

Its a lot of work and damn expensive when done right

Maybe you need to have been born west of the Shannon but I've never once enjoyed food from supermacs

Was with my seven year old the other day and we'd been on the road for a while so dropped in to one , I just had a coke and chips, Chips were terrible and the coke must have been sitting in a barell for a month beforehand, flat as a pancake

Irish are still a bit sniffy about fish other than plain old cod n chips.

The grilled chicken burger is not bad

The tenders are ok, the regular chicken burger ok

    The chips frozen

I'm a fan of Carl's Jr to be honest. Unfortunately though, they don't spare the calories.

Don't we have McDonalds, Burgerking, KFC, Eddie Rockets and Supermacs. No need for others I doubt they would do well.

I wasn't preaching. I do think we dont need any more fast food places. I ate quite a lot of fast food when I lived in the states, it was too easy. I cant say it was good for my health. But everything in moderation I suppose.

    Ranking the list for me:

Sonic, In-N-Out, Carls jr ,Popeyes, Chipotle, Jack in the box, Chick-fil-A, Dairy Queen, Arbys, and only if I needed to clear out my system TacoBell

    7.8kwp South facing, Slane.

I ate in Bubba Gumps in the Mall of America in Minneapolis one time. The server makes you partake in a Forrest Gump quiz before ordering. Then you get this odd structure of cones containing a lot of shrimp. Weird.

Cheesecake Factory's cheese cake is actually really nice.

I went there on a work trip. The menu had calorie counts and everything was well over 1k calories, most over 2k calories. We found the skinnylicious menu and that had normal food on it.

    But the deserts were great.

I ordered wings from Hooters because apparently it's great wings. Everyone always says they go there for the wings. they weren't great. I guess we all already knew why people went there.

Possibly my most memorable US fast food experiences were both in Denver:

Taco Bell after a hockey game, where of course I had to repeat my order three times because of my non-American accent. Merely OK - didn't make me ill or anything like that, but pretty meh. It was literally all I could find open after 10PM on a week night in Denver.

Fatburger: now we're talking. I think I had a KingBurger, and it was really good. Their calorie counts are hilarious e.g. their "SkinnyBurger" is 560-700 calories, brought down from the more typical 1000 calories by leaving out the bun. But that market is probably covered here already with Wowburger, Five Guys etc. I don't think we need any more expensive burger joints.

PS so what do I think we need here? Good Texas BBQ takeaway is really something, I've had a few in Houston in recent years.

ive looked into trying to get a franchise for a Hooters resturant a few years ago. Was £60k upfront and needed between £800k - 1mill as an investment.

It would generate a ton of publicity in the country, the food is quite nice and theres a market here for a sports bar type of establishment in Dublin city.

Unfortunately i dont have a million loose change lying around!

You lot wanting what’s on my doorstep and all I want is a bag of chips from the local Italian at home….hmmmmmmmmm chips. Nothing like them here.

    Popeyes v’s KFC… Popeyes.

    Chick-Fil-A v’s McDonalds…..chicky all the time.

    Wendy’s over priced but passable.

White Castle… give me antacid now.

Chipotle..bloody awful. Local Mexican is twice as good and cheaper.

5 Guys… went once never to return, the prices (before inflation) were crazy for less than good burger the fries were nasty.

Sonic …. 6 bucks for a hotdog no thanks.

    Carls Jnr…meh.

    checkers and Rally ….. passable.

In n out… honestly ok but nothing special.

Taco Bell…best laxative known to man…never go there.

Some of these US chains are owned by complete religious nutcases.

In-N-Out put bible verses on their packaging.

    Chick-Fil-A is actively anti-LGBT

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chick-fil-A#Controversies

Domino's is still 7% owned by founder Tom Monaghan, who has donated hundreds of millions of dollars to religious conservative causes. Big MrT fan too. We don't order from there.

Obesity is a big eough issue already in this country without permitting this rubbish in.

We've enough American influence without importing their awful diet.
