2000/NT Domain trust issue.

Hopefully someone has come across this before..can't seem to find anything on the net.
We have a 2000 domain with several 2 way trusts between other NT domains.
The problem is on the 2k domain, removing a trust which is showing up as a Non windows kerberos realm, although it's actually NT. When the trust is highlighted and you try to remove it, it asks for confirmation but then says specified domain does not exist

The trust was causing problems and the idea was to remove and recreate it. It removed fine from the NT side but not 2000.
It won't recreate either as it tells you the trust is already there.

Don't know how clear that sounds but any ideas would be appreciated.

Cheers for those, lots of info but can't find anything to do with being unable to remove one side of a trust, getting square eyed reading it all.

any chance there's an INI file or registry entry containing this info about trusts you could just get rid of (risky, I know, so back up what you have)
