Avril Lavigne still looks about 16! 😲

With Kerrang TV closing tomorrow, I’m expecting an onstage cameo from Alien Ant Farm 😁

was boards.ie not consulted when Glasto were picking acts for this year? ALOT of unhappy middle aged men over on the Glasto thread 🫣

I'm not sure who sza is but it's really awful, I'd assume she's popular amongst the youth

All the above channels are available on Virgin Digital. I will particularly miss 4Music, The Box and Magic around the Christmas period when they are playing Christmas songs and when I would be switching around between the various music channels.

Being able to actually hear the lyrics would be a good start. All that effort put into staging and she sounded like she was just singing random sounds. She could have been singing in Swahili for all I knew.

BBC showed a repeat of Death in Paradise on BBC1 instead of covering the Glastonbury headliner on their main channel.

they showed it on BBC2 though. Headliners this year were pants IMHO. Dua Lipa isn’t ready but it’s the usual soft bung to a national act who will jump at the chance. Coldplay, one headliner too many. SZA, yes you can sing but work in making your lyrics audible if you want to pick up new fans. There’s a dud every year usually but they got the hat trick this year.

Smashing Pumpkins on TappyPappy - IIRC, this was when they were touring the UK and Ireland with ‘Mellon Collie’ - a woman died at the Dublin gig.

And the guy on keyboards (Jonathan Melvoin) died of a heroin overdose.

Not the best tour, let’s be honest. 😐

A two hour highlights show of TRNSMT 2024 festival from Glasgow Green happening this weekend, this is basically what the T in the Park guys do these days with single days events. Featuring tracks from The Snuts, Garbage, Sugababes, Example, The Last Dinner Party and Liam Gallagher. BBC 1 12.15 - 02.15 AM.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

That was a really disappointing documentary and, to be honest, a waste of time. No real in-depth interviews or any sort of hard questions about the break up, reunion, new material etc. So many missed opportunities as well. For example, the band are rehearsing and on the setlist is "New Song" and there's not one mention of it at all! Plenty of footage from the rehearsals, warm up gig(s) and tour that was never used. All in all a botch job that someone should give to Peter Jackson to sort out….

For those with access to BBC Scotland, a decent three-part series is available called ‘Rip It Up’ about the history of Scottish pop.

Weather-related hits at the BBC on BBC Two right now.

We assume they’ll be playing Halestorm’s back catalogue then. 😁
