Why does it look like Regina will win a seat?

You know it's possible to not vote SF and express at the same time the likes of Doherty are useless?

It's kinda been a trend in the local elections....

She's a dose that lost her seat and was thrust into the Seanad because jobs for the girls/boys etc.

The people showed they didn't want her, she's just a party stooge.

She said there are nine genders. Not eight or ten, nine. So she read it somewhere or someone told her to say it because it sounds good. All nice and trendy progressive and Jen is on the same line but have a read of the Cass report and think of the long term implications for Irish kids and women. FG has no business promoting this stuff.

Look at the alternatives maybe.....boylan for example, never had a real job. Sucking off the teet of quangos her whole life. At least Doherty had a business... that did fail...

An increasingly large amount of our laws are coming from the EU. The European Parliament has an increasing role in deciding those laws. The strongest parties in Europe shape the committees and choose the people who lead policy making on different issues. Fine Gael happens to be part of the largest European party and as such, its MEPs have an advantage in terms of potentially having greater influence. If you actually want Ireland to have influence in Europe voting for one of the established parties makes sense, even if you would never vote for them in a General or Local election.

What makes zero sense is voting for independents in European elections. Not to say that some of our Independent candidates arent highly skilled, but most start at a significant disadvantage in terms of influence.

I know from a long serving EU Civil Servant how the system works and what makes a good MEP for Ireland.
