Boreens Width

Hello to you all :) I have a question regarding what width an old boreen should be ? I have been told by my neighbour it should 16ft wide, is this correct as I'm struggling to find any facts?

No idea,, reluctant to get involved in neighbours disputes but if I was asked to guess a number it would be closer to 6ft

Probably a foot each side of a car so maybe 8 foot
