Smart meter installation times

    Hi,

    I'm in Dublin 8 and requested today a smart meter installation to ESB. I'm currently on Day/Night meter. Anyone with a similar setup can suggest how long did it take to switch the meter?

    I'm asking as I'm almost out of contract with my current electricity provider and the renewal would be convenient only with a smart meter, otherwise I'd need to switch.

    If it's a few weeks it's ok, but if it's several months (I've heard up to 8 months), maybe it would make sense to change provider.

    What do you think?
