What if you bring with you a Thai bride that's half your age?

I think its so sad to get to your retirement and have to rent a home. This lady should and probably could have bought a home years ago.

She seems well spoken and intelligent so something went very wrong. Renting in my old age would be my idea of a nightmare.

A High Court action has been lodged against veteran property developer Harry Crosbie, linked to a proposed hotel development beside his Vicar Street music venue.  Development firm HITC Properties, controlled by the Moran family who owns the Red Cow Inn, has initiated summary judgment proceedings against the 75-year-old in pursuit of what is understood to be a substantial six-figure claim.

Harry Crosbie, old friend of Joe. Is this call a coincidence?

yes it is a monumental price, I know of an excellent 3 bedroom duplex whose very nice landlord only charged just over €1500 pm.

Joe should be asking if there are any extra services available for your 2,200. We are talking Dublin 12, not Dublin 4.

It's almost all build to rent, the gubbermint will be supplementhing a lot of the rent, total scam.

Sadly its going to become more the norm. From what I see of the 20/30s somethings now its spend, spend, spend - they wont save and buy a home just moan about house prices even though there is good value in several large towns outside Dublin.

Yeah, Joe. Because all those developers are only doing it so they can sell houses as cheap as possible.

    What a prune.

Because they’re built to rent and the biggest customer of that lark is the govt with borrowed money plus they need to be seen to cater for every conceivable group/identity going

was in Dublin last week for the first time in years, tower cranes everywhere. Where they were building some of these apartments they could not pay me to live there. I don't see the attraction to be honest

Joe: On the "high street" as we say in Ireland.

Joe, No-one in Ireland says that.

It's pure anecdote. Some wimminz find that dark chocolate alleviates symptoms and have shared their experiences on Farcebuke.

Not an ounce of science in it anywhere.

I knew that it could be mentioned, I just hoped that it wouldn't be.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,149 ✭✭✭Deeec

That was different times. In the last 40 years women can get mortgages on their own. That lady sounded like she was only in her 50's/60's. If she had even a modest job she would have got a mortgage and could have bought a cheap house in the 80's/90's.
