This thread seems a bit dead but I will chance it.

I am looking for a graffiti style artist for a small (but paid) project to spray paint a banner for me. I need this done in the next 10 days, so pretty urgent.

I will supply the canvas and spray paint and design.

The canvas will be about 1.5m x 8m.

I would imagine it shouldn't take more than an hour or two and I could meet anywhere in Dublin.

Please DM if you can help.

I am looking for an appreciative woodworker who might have a use for some old wood salvaged from a brass bed whose provenance can be dated to at least 1918. Four pieces were used to support the old spring base and look like pine (pitch pine?) or maybe cedar? The overall measurements are 190 x 80 x 50 mm (two) and 140 x 80 x 50 mm (two). The larger pieces are planed and both have some indentations to take bolt etc. They are located in south Dublin. PM please if any interest, maybe with email or contact details.

    Hi all,

Not sure if this thread is still active. Looking for a painter experienced with acrylic that would be willing to take on a project of refreshing/repainting 2 pictures by going over them. After years in an open fireplace house they've been blackened and look faded also. Interested to know if this is even possible at the least, thanks very much!

oh a good clean should cheer it up! Have you tried just water/cotton wool/cotton bud and see what lifts?

Thanks Cobham, yes a local framers gave it a good clean for me and it looks healthier but there's a huge difference in the original colour and the main. The frame around the edge protected the original so now that it's revealed I can see how it should look. My next option is a gloss varnish (if that exists and would work?!) and leave it at that but I'd like to explore a full refresh first.

What is the medium? acrylic ? and was it unglazed? If it was watercolour, it would have faded but I thought oils and Acrylic would not be so affected. Was the original varnished?

It's painted on what looks like cheap board in acrylic. Looks unglazed and unvarnished but to be honest I'm not familiar with such stuff.

A bit of background to explain the effort; It was my father who painted them and they've been in my uncles house for many years. Now that whole generation has passed away and these two paintings are ones I'd like to revive as they are great examples of his work. Any others were unfinished, behind glass or sold!
