Abusive postman

So this morning a postman attempted to deliver a parcel to my house. I was asleep. He left one of those notices. Anyway, I checked the Ring footage as I noticed a missed ring on my phone and never saw him before. He got annoyed at having to write the notice, rang the doorbell again looking quite agitated, then put the notice in the letterbox and turning away he said 'f*****g useless c**t'. He obviously knew he was being recorded so it was very deliberate. I'm shocked to be honest as anyone would be. I will be complaining but hope they actually do something.

This is her life by the sounds of it. Imagine finding a notice from the postman that you have a parcel and then going back over the footage of said postman putting the notice through the door. LOL. It has to be a wind up

At least he leaves a notice. My postman just leaves everything outside the front door ("signature required" or not). He couldn't care less whether there's anyone at home.

Well, swap jobs/careers and see how you feel about having to deliver mail. Especially during stormy weather.

Do postmen normally deliver on Saturdays?

If a tree falls in the forest and there's nobody to hear it, does it make a sound?

Similarly, if someone mouths frustration into thin air, and there's nobody to hear it, is it abuse?

What a bizarre thing to get wound up about!

I wouldn't bother doing anything. It's not really worth anyone's time. Our postman calls to us very early. Sometimes we are up and sometimes we are not. You can set your Ring to auto respond. One of the stock responses is Please Leave the Package Outside. The postman always does now when he hears that and saves us sprint down the stairs while trying to get dressed.

European Court of Human Rights should be your next stop.

OP, could he have been taking about ring doorbell itself? It's hard to tell from what you typed out. Maybe he rang it expecting to get a reply from you and wss frustrated when he didn't.

Yes this is my life now. I suffered a stroke 2 months ago and am bedbound.

What exactly are you complaining about? The postman did not abuse you: how could he, when he never even saw you?

He said rude words on your property, for sure. But he was talking to himself. Most jobs wouldn't have a problem with that.

I'd bet they were just swearing at the fecking doorbell thing. If this was a packet/ parcel delivery from An Post, it's also very likely they received a text the night before advising delivery next day. We get them regular.

Youll get no sympathy here OP.

What exactly am I complaining about? Is there something wrong with you? Maybe I have higher standards than you, but I don't expect a member of An Post to refer to me as a 'f*****g useless c**t' because I didn't answer the door.Totally unprofessional behaviour. Obviously…

Why do you think he was talking about you specifically? His pen might not have worked. His smart watch might have started buzzing with a low battery warning after he only charged it. He might have received a text from a colleague who rang in sick at that exact time. He might be pissed off with people who have gone to the bother of installing these camera door bells so that they can always answer a caller only to find that 90% of people don't bother answering to them 🤷🏻‍♀️. I'd say he rings more doorbells than the average person so knows how these things are working out.

You have no proof that he was talking specifically about you.

I guess because I saw the footage I am 100 per cent certain. If a text message came in he would have looked at his phone. He didn't. It's not his job to get annoyed at Ring doorbells or people who for many reasons don't answer them. Just like ordinary doorbells. Anyway, I'm confident in what I saw and I have dealt with evidence a lot so know all about proof.

That's not proof of anything except that he was frustrated. It's human nature and I often call myself a useless **** or unlucky ***** if things are not going right or if I make a mistake. Human nature.

The opposite to be honest. I never realised the amount of cats that walk in front of my car every day. That's as exciting as it usually gets in my place. It was a novelty at first but not anymore.

You should replace that doorbell with a normal one to avoid such future incidents.

You might not have seen the postman before, but he certainly knows you.

Op, I remember a thread you started a few weeks ago about having to go into a bank to withdraw money so if you were bed bound how were you going to manage that? Maybe I remember it wrong, I must check my followed threads so if I'm wrong accept my apology.

Honestly, get another interest, people curse to themselves all the time,, don't be petty and try to ruin someone's lives, affect their children possibly by following this,, it's a real case of tmi, you would be stressed less without that doorbell.
