I replaced my own recently.

I bought the hinges in Screwfix Direct for less than a tenner each.

All I needed was a screw driver and watching a YouTube video a couple of times.

Theres a guy in a small kiosc shop near the old bridge in Muldudart.

He has or can get parts for all older windows - seems to be a one guy operation and he seems to only be there at random times though - I tried getting a new locking bar for my windows - he has the part, tried several times but I could never catch him in - so ring up before hand.

I used this fella before, fixed hinges etc and changed the front door handle and was good

Then I had this one to fix gutters, but he does windows as well (and was cheaper coming from Bettystown then someone five minutes up the road)

yeah hes a strange one - tried so hard to give him business (well he was the only person that I could find that had the locking bars for my pvc windows...)

Ended up finding used ones that fit good enough.

You'd think he'd do admin etc and have lads doing the work, even one for repair etc

I did the same with the handles, I found them in B&Q and fitted my own ones when they broke (seen as catch is only plastic)

When you think labour alone can be about 80 it's worth trying to do stuff yourself
