Upgrade Thoughts

Folks quick question.

I currently have the following

RTX 3070 Founders Edition, Ryzen 5 3600, MSI B550 Tomahawk motherboard and 16GB of Crucial Ballistic 3600Mhz ram.

Last week I grabbed a 4070Ti for €710 from Amazon and it arrived yesterday. I haven't opened it yet.

A friend has upgraded his 10GB 3080 to a 4080 Super so now has offered me the 3080 for €450.

Would you keep the 4070Ti or take the 3080? I'm thinking if I take the 3080 I can get a 5800X3D and do both the CPU and GPU in one go.

What's the best option here?

And just to add I might swap my NZXT H500 case out for something new as well. I like the Fractal Design North but would consider other options as well.

The CPU+GPU path seems like a better idea alright. I really felt the upgrade from 3600 -> 5600X with the removal of microstutters; and 5800X3D will remove most CPU bottlenecks.

That's definitely what I'm leaning towards. Also might grab that Arctic 280 Liquid freezer 3 you linked the other day and replace my air cooler and get a better case for airflow.

Anything you'd recommend instead of the Fractal North?

Fractal North is one of the best-looking cases out there. It can only fit a 240mm AIO on top though.

Sharkoon Rebel C70M looks similar, a bit cheaper but can fit 280 on top.

Antec Performance 1 FT has 3 4(!) included 30mm thick fans.

Hyte Y40 if you want to show off your GPU in vertical mode.

No I think the Fractal is the nicest there but the Antex looks good as well.

Will look up a few reviews of the Fractal and see how it compares to the H500 NZXT.
