The Traitors - Boards Edition Starting 4/2/24

‘You think you know how to play the game, you don’t know anything.’

Based on the hit TV Show of the same name, a small group of contestants become the titular "Traitors", and must work together to eliminate the other contestants in order to win a grand prize, while the remaining contestants become "Faithful" and are tasked to discover and banish the Traitors by voting them out, to win the grand prize (sic).

The Traitors eliminate other players by meeting each night and murdering the Faithful.

For the Faithful it is very simple. Find the Traitors, and banish them each day at the round table.

Sign Ups now open, I'm hoping to run this from Sunday 4th February.

Daily murder and banishment I presume but how does voting work, time limits, etc?

Just want to make sure I can commit!

Realistically it takes as much or as little time as you want. Voting etc is a fairly small time window in the evening but you need constant chat during the day, back and forth, a bit of interrogation, looking for patterns or inconsistencies in what people have said, how they've voted etc.

Realistically I would want to be able check in every couple of hours during the day, minimum. But people do play with a much lighter touch, there's no right or wrong really

Not a problem. It's generally off site so the players can't see while they are playing but I'll post a link to it when the game starts.

Yeah essentially these are the key elements. To somewhat recreate roundtable discussion there's a window in the evening of usually a few hours for discussion. You can stay around for all of it if you like or drift in and out depending on your own schedules. Voting then would be a set time (eg 9pm) and if you can't make that you can proxy vote through the game mod (myself in this case).

Depending on the player numbers there might be a challenge/challenges posted during the day for opportunities to win prizes such as a shield for protection from the murder that night.

@Neco Interesting to see that you have the game on Boards... as opposed to, ahem, the other place. It is also interesting to see users replying here who do not seem to be linked to that other Forum.

I would not be able to devote my time to this one unfortunately.

There is usually a dead room where people not playing can chat and speculate about the game and then when people are killed in the game they also join.

it’s a bit different than the show though as usually the dead room is spoiler free for the first few days so you won’t know who the traitors are which makes it interesting
