    91 felony counts

    11 aides convicted

    4 indictments

    2 impeachments

    $83.3 million defamation verdict

    $25 million fraud judgment

    $5 million sexual assault verdict

    A university shut down

    A charity shut down

And is on trial for fraud.

If $83,000,000 isn't enough to teach him to keep his mouth closed, how much is this worth?

    I liked this comment

"An 80 year old woman has proven to have more courage in confronting Donald Trump than the entire Republican Party"

If the Republican Party had any courage whatsoever, that might actually be impressive.

Republicans sure seem happy to flout the SCOTUS on one hand and then demand it defend them on the other hand

    image.png

It would be so funny to watch it happen too.

Because if that’s not the end, and if this is really the road these Republican governors want to set us down, there is absolutely nothing stopping Democratic governors or Democratic presidents from ignoring federal court rulings they think are constitutionally unsound. If Texas is going to ignore this ruling, then New York state can thumb its nose at the court’s decision in Bruen. Colorado can memory-hole 303 Creative, Washington state can tear up Bremerton. Hell, Biden can reinstate his student loan debt cancelation program the court struck down in Biden v. Nebraska. On and on it could go up to, including, and well past Biden ignoring a much-anticipated decision in which the court is expected to kneecap federal regulators.

He will die off and his children will inherit the litany of appeals until they are all penniless

I hear from the comments section of reddit however he may have to put the $83.3M in escrow/bond in order to appeal the case, allegedly per NY state law - which is used to dealing with organized criminal enterprises. edit: yes, true, per Carrol's lawyer

Yes ,I heard about the escrow/bond requirement.

Are we into double or quits territory?

If he maintains his behaviour can he be hauled up again before the courts for the same reason and the fine increases each time until he modifies his behaviour?

Separately I notice his pal(?) and donor Vince McMahon of the WWE may be embroiled in some kind of a nasty sex scandal.

Including allegations of some kind of arse to head dumping ...can I have heard that correctly?

Makes Trump seem positively edifying...a breath of fresh air.

Steve Bannon is in legal hot water in a number of jurisdictions. Contempt of Congress, fraud, not paying his lawyers, ...

83 million reasons to be a bit cheerful today.

If he is still the frontrunner by end of Feb, I'll be shocked. Like others have said, you cannot win the presidency without independents and they do not like Trump.

If Republicans want a sniff at winning independent voters, they have to start siding with Haley. Even though they'll still lose because the MAGA base will probably write in Trump.

Where is the poster that said Biden was doing an awful job on immigration/the border?

Deal struck, subject to house chair putting to the floor.

But isn't there a chance the GOP shoot it down on the senate floor cos of Trump's paranoia / diktat? We'll certainly see how far they put party ahead of country - especially given the issue is THE issue modern GOP hardcore are obsessed about.

As to waking up in the morning and finding Trump the rapist now slapped with an extra 83 million? Shame he'll probably wriggle out of it. Declare bankruptcy and that's that?

He can't declare bankruptcy. 1st off, that doesn't remove the liability.

2nd, it would mean a court appointed accountant would have access to all his financial assets and would discharge them on the best way to generate some funds, which would all go to cover the liability. No way Trump is going to that route. If for no other reason than he is probably going to lose millions on the NY fraud trial and will want to hide from that.

Any future earnings would also be attached.

Politically it would be a disaster. "You bankrupted yourself, why would anyone let you in charge of the country" is the line that will be pumped out continuously. Of course it won't make any difference to MAGA crowd, but its the independents he needs and that certainly won't help.

You can get Biden at 2/1 to win the presidency, twice the odds of Trump. Despite everything he has done he is well ahead in combined polling of Reps., Dems and Republicans. At this stage, there can't be many who don't have an opinion about Trump. I fear there is a high probability, he will win the election

Politically I don’t know if declaring bankruptcy would hurt him more than anything else that’s been reported on him. It might galvanise the independent / moderate vote against him more since most people perceive bankruptcy as “failure in business”, but it won’t matter a jot to the MAGA cult. Even with bankruptcy he can tell those brainwashed nitwits that he’s “very rich” and they’d never question it.

The odds were in favour of Clinton winning. Equally the odds were in favour of Trump on the night of the last election. I'm not sure if it's particularly accurate as a gauge.

I fear there is a high probability, he will win the election

Whilst anything is possible in the bizarro world of the Electoral college , the odds are not in Trumps favour.

The economy is steadily improving and the benefits are being seen by the average voter.

More and more Independents are being turned off Trump because of his actions.

The GOP are being exposed as a deeply unserious political party who have zero interest in actually governing - Their current nonsense regarding a border deal being a case in point.

And the "election" campaigns haven't even started yet.

I really don't think Trump is attempting to appeal to the independent voters. If he were, his rhetoric would probably be a bit softer. Moreover, there is no noise from within Trump's circle or the MAGA movement that suggests compromise.

Therefore I can only conclude that if it is truly the plan of Trump and Co to be elected once again, that plan does not include the moderate vote. That alone should be setting off big alarm bells.

The thing people are still not talking about is what measures MAGA might try to take in swing states to suppress the vote against them, independent or otherwise, be it legislation that restricts voting by post or weird gerrymandering or putting partisan people in positions that can influence elections at the local level. General fookery under the banner of election security, in other words.

Indeed, that was definitely the plan, which is why the losses by people like Kari Lake et al were so important in 2022.

Trump failed to get his loyalists elected all over the place.

People who would have rigged the election in his favour, but flue the most part they aren't there to do it

By the end of next week, Trump is going to be looking at close to $450M in fines in New York alone once Engoron hands down the judgement in the Business fraud case.

The money he is spending on Legal proceedings is killing him.

It is reckoned that he's using 50%+ of every dollar he raises on Legal costs already.

It's unsustainable and there isn't a big ball of donor cash out there waiting for him.

It's why he so angry with Haley, the longer she stays in the game, the longer he's locked out of accessing GOP central funding. Money he desperately needs to pay his bills.

He's going to win against Biden unfortunately. There are terrible signs Biden is losing it mentally over the last few weeks. Larry Donnelly has talked about it recently and the democrats are finding it increasingly difficult to hide Joe away. America having these two running for office is frankly an embarrassment to a once great nation.

More than that, he seems like someone who's never happy, even when he DOES get his own way. Victories or success still involve crowing or personal abuse, he's such a Sore Winner. He's always so angry, so unhappy.

In fact thinking about that video with the MAGA lady on the mobility scooter, the whole movement seems one of perpetual anger and sense of the world somehow wronging them by existing.

If it worked for Thatcher? Maybe?

"Don't you think he looks tired?"

    😂

Is he allowed use funds raised for election purposes to fund private legal proceedings?

Not that it would bother him or his grift but could that invoke further legal cases?

  • Moderators, Politics Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 16,883 Mod ✭✭✭✭Quin_Dub

    Great post!!!

Kick off with a bit of the old "Joe is losing it" and will be beaten by the criminal rapist who thinks he beat Obama in the last election , who thinks Biden started WW2 and that Nikki Haley was in charge of Congress on January 6th.

Throw in a bit of "They're both terrible" to seem like you aren't a Trump supporter just to be safe.

    Top work.

Larry Donnelly? Who? Some Irish guy no one in the US has heard of? Can he even vote in a US election?

  • Moderators, Politics Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 16,883 Mod ✭✭✭✭Quin_Dub

Depends on where the money is donated to.

Money raised specifically for the election can't be used, but if it goes to a PAC or to him directly he can.

The tiny print on his endless emails looking for money is important.

Once he's officially the nominee , it will be much harder for him to do it, but right now he can do what he wants with the money for the most part

He'll just " rent" Mar a Lago to his campaign for millions of dollars as a work around anyway.

Very low effort, at least link to Donnelly talking about it or provide examples of the hiding of Biden.

Otherwise it's typical MAGA loon talk.
