Its remarkable how good the admirals have been

When we were the soldiers we played them on a muddy field in cork a few years ago and they were decent
Now a mate who plays for an SBC team says its like playing a totally different level

Fair Play them for that serious level of hardwork to improve

Ignore all of this! Appears to be a helluva panthers performance

Yea big surprise considering the quality of players they were missing. Bowl should be an interesting game but panthers haven't had it easy against the trojans past 3 years. You'd have to have them (Trojans) big favourites.

Cowboys are IAFA1 champions at the second time of asking.

Minatores went for 2 with a minute left to win rather than tie with the PAT, wr caught the ball in the end zone, landed out of the end zone and was tackled before he could get back in. Cowboys win 28-27.

    Season over for another one

Crusaders IAFL2 (No bias here but we were damn good :D )

    Cowboys IAFL1

    Trojans powerful in the SBC

Not sure who will go down a level as a few teams struggled

The game appears to be getting better and better every year

Don't know if anyone saw but this seasons Irish game has been cancelled due to the Corona Virus. A small thing in the grand scheme of things but still a bummer for most players who trained from November right up to a week before the first game was due to start. Be interesting to see how many other sports follow their lead.

JUst a quick question on Flag football

    Is it 8 a side??

    And are mixed teams allowed?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 3,612 ✭✭✭davetherave

5 a side and mixed teams are allowed.

It's played under the International Federation of American Football (IFAF) flag football rules. - https://www.ifaf.org/downloads/IFAF%20Flag%20Rules%202019.pdf

Does anyone know if the Wexford Eagles are still playing? Their facebook and Instagram seem to be inactive. The american football ireland website doesn't have anything about them or show them in any leagues at the moment. Does anyone here know any more information?

Also if the Eagles are no longer playing, where else would be recommended for me to join that would be nearest to Wexford?

Eagles stopped playing early in 2022 season. Their long time HC etc. went to South Dublin and then retired - move didnt work out. Coming out of covid, the team needed to keep all key people in situ. Was a shame that SD targeted some of their key people.

The Eagles were a well run club with a good bit of local interest. Question is if anyone can revive the team?

Rebels are probably your nearest team - based near N11/M50.

I see the AFI 2024 schedule has been released in bits by some teams online.

What"s the divisional lineup? Not clear from teams own posts.

Congrats to UCD winning the Shamrock Bowl.

But the visible decline in the national organisation is both shocking and concerning for fans of the domestic game. The organisation of the championship game was way below par. The Commissioner didnt even attend the game! Who decided to have a "running clock" to shorten the event? Not just the championship - other examples include no results/league tables on the website...
