HiMyself and my brother are currecntly building two houses which are 3000 sq ft respectively.we are thinking of purchasing an airless spray gun like the one in the link below as it will do emulsions and solvent based paints.http://www.wagnerprojectpro.co.uk/wagner_project_pro_video.html will only be using it for the interior walls and ceilings in the houses.has anyone used this type of airless spray gun or any other type tp paint the interior of there house and how did they find it?the price of this is 425 euros and to hire an airless spray gun is a 100euros plus the vat per day.so there is not much savings between renting or buying one.Any help appreciated.RegardsDbeermat.

just to let you know if you have never used an airless sprayer before you could really make a mess of your walls and ceilings,it takes a lot of experience to be able to spray walls to an acceptable standard.if you have never sprayed before id nearly suggest you stick to brush and roller.

Its not rocket science, I would recommend buying one like you suggested. To get the hang of using it, spray a few walls where you are going to put your wardrobes. It won't take you that long to get the hang of it.

Wear good masks/gloves or get couple pairs of disposable overalls, just be careful using it as if you direct it at open skin it could puncture skin because its that powerful.

Once you got hang of it, mask up everything that you don't want paint to get onto, overspray will happen if you don't cover up. Do your ceilings first.

Oh remember to give sprayer a good cleaning after every use.

    Goodluck with it.

Would you not have to mask off the ceiling if your doing the walls a different colour to the ceiling? If so that would be some pain in the ass to have to do! It's a mighty fast way of painting if your doing the walls and ceilings the same colour.

Well what you would normally do it spray everything white, to give the walls a blank canvas.

Then if you wanted to add colour cut in first then spray away. But overspray can happen...You should be able to adjust the span of the spray also...But granted using a spray for single colour use is pointless. The time saving using a spray is great, you should be able to coat whole house in a day, using all white obviously....

yeah good for industrial work or first coating only as you cant touch up.
Not the best way to decorate.
But if you are .... finish the ceilings first then first coat the walls with the colour as close to the ceiling as you can then cut in the remainder by brush.
final coat to done with roller & brush.

Tha nks for the feedback.all ceilings and walls will be painted white, quickest way out of it for now,can change later on down the road if needs be.The walls have yet to be skimmed so i will have to wait 3-4 weeks before i can start painting and this option is the fastest way out of it.Cheers.

you cannot cut in a wall you are spraying because it will flash.

    Very old thread here.

Similar situation to the OP. Brother and I are building houses soon.

Can anyone recommend an airless sprayer which is capable of handling air-tightness spray and regular painting

    Thanks
