I had to get replacement too, fill out form get guard to sign and go to local car tax pay 12e and they will process to get new one it came 2 days after. PS I left work early as I work in different county to go to mine as it always closed at 4, but since covid they now close at 1. Kind man behind counter said its a backwards system but tore off bottom of a tax renewal form where card details go and I input mine and he attached it to form so lady could process in the morning. Like there's an online system to tax car but you can't even report it lost / stolen or go to a different tax office you have to go to one where County address is.

yep that's what I was told cause i could've drove to one near work but wasn't allowed, or just do as previous posters put up get a postal order, but you still have to go get one😒

DCC have an RF134 form that allows you to use a credit card to pay and avoid the Postal Order fees. Get it stamped and send it in the post. Worth a shot with other councils too I guess as it's not noted to be DCC specific

Ye, it literally says on the bottom of the RF134 send to the local MTO. 'Local' means the county it's registered in. Shannon doesn't accept payment methods other than online via the website for tax and there's no place on that website to pay for stuff like this. They would probably just forward it on to the relevant MTO or return it to you which would just delay everything.

If you're far away from the 'local' MTO I'd call into your nearest MTO and they would probably look after you if you explain the situation, it's easier in person as you can pay cash/card and no messing with POs.
