Descent areas in Crumlin to live

Crumlin and Drimnagh are gentrifying rapidly due to the housing crisis.

Drimnagh is closer to town and the Luas and some houses have huge gardens so it's worth looking at.

In terms of problem areas, you need knowledge at a granular level i.e. street by street.

No. Burning peoples wheelie bins. Feckers drug dealing, up and down the canal footpaths on scramblers etc., etc.

It’s not curtain twitching if some little 10/11 year olds set 5 wheelie bins on fire on a pedestrian bridge over the canal from the Luas and you have to call the fire brigade! This is specifically Drimnagh I’m talking about not Crumlin although there are dodgy areas there too. And Christmas Day it was all day long, all up and down the canal paths, loads of scramblers, not an occasional one! And not so long ago some little feckers got off the luas and badly injured a man because they were racially abusing his wife and he stood up to them. And no one can do anything because they’re all underage.

It will always be mixed, which is a good thing in my opinion.

It's not going to suddenly turn into Foxrock.

But it's definitely gentrifying at a decent rate. I don't have any metric to measure it though.

Lots of older people are dying off there and young professionals types moving in. Or else people are buying houses as an investment and renting them out.

You could buy a 3 bedroom house there and rent it out for €2000 a month easy. So you've it paid off in 15 years maybe.

It's definitely mixed but not that bad.
