Flat roof query

We had a flat roof installed on a new extension a few years back. Pic attached, it’s a flat main area that slopes to the drain pipe, but then a raised edge about 1 foot all around. The raised edge doesn’t drain to the drain pipe, but rather rain water falls in every direction off the roof.

    1. Is this the correct design? Feels like the raised edge should slope inwards so rainwater goes to the drainpipe
    2. Cant track down original installers, is it a major job to get a slope retrofitted in the edge?

A sloped capping on the parapet (raised edge) would be a better detail. Can’t see how it wouldn’t be very straightforward to retrofit
