Was scrolling through Prime last night and didn't notice that Fargo was there at all. Did notice the movie alright.

See it now. They have it well hidden.

    Isn't all this very familiar

The domineering MIL , scheming FIL

Doormat husband and head case dangerous wife

I'm sure I've seen this before

Really looking forward to Season 5. Can't wait. I'll let the episodes build up and Binge!!

I think we've seen pretty much everything before, the same basic plots have been regurgitated for centuries (and longer), with only the names, location, and dates being changed.

Lead actor/actress British again. You'd think in a country of 300 million people, there would be more American actors getting cast in these roles rather than going with English actors putting on distractingly bad accents. You'd be fairly miffed if you were an American actor/actress with a similar profile to Juno Temple. I know Quentin Tarantino commented on it recently because he has no **** to give. Wonder how long it is before more Americans complain about it.

Thought I was going to despise this after a woeful enough first 25 minutes but it improved enough afterwards to warrant giving the second episode a shot.

Does have all the hallmarks of a post-Sopranos woke (yeah I'm using that word, get over it) TV production. Subverting the traditional roles with the badass female character and her whipped ineffectual husband who looks like he arrived fresh off The Big Bang Theory set. The badass family matriarch and her array of manservants. The female cop and her feckless husband. Gets a bit tiresome after a while.

Fierce derivative as well this. Lead baddy (so far) clearly aping Anton Chigurh with the silly haircut. Feels like a redux of Fargo movie, No Country for Old Men and several other things.

Anyways, looks like it has more going for it than the shite that was Fargo Season 4 Episode 1.

Frances McDormands character in the original movie was pretty badass and that movie is nearly 30 years old.

Watched the first three episodes last night and loved them. Light years better than Season 4, which was entertaining in spots but weak as an overall season. It's not super original so far, but the characters are just really well done.

Laughed out loud at the "listen bitch" moment at the kitchen table, had to rewind it to watch it again. The idea that Juno Temple has been putting on a bad Minnesota accent for a decade is pretty silly but I'm really enjoying the silly.

Might have to wait for a few more episodes to build up again, hard to watch just one a week.

Definitely a season that seems truer to the movie, but that's not a bad thing. The sense of humour, the accents, the script...I won't get tired of it ayway.

Can't do spoilers on mobile but Joe keerys line when he walks into the kitchen with the scene in front of him had me in bits

    It's hard enough going

Roy is not really working as a character .The deep biblical stuff is torturous

Really enjoying it so far. Far funnier and darker than the previous few series. Better characters and development of them. The scene with Muffin and the security guy, while trivial as such was great. I don't think Sheriff Roy has really come into it yet. My guess is it will be soon when Dot goes and confronts him or takes the son out.

    The MIL is good

I get the idea that the daughter in law is a tiger they don't have to go on and on about it

I enjoyed episode one despite the ropey accents. Gritted my teeth through the opening of episode 2 due to the accents especially Juno Temple, the deputy and Jennifer Jason Leigh. What kind of an accent has JJL even? It's like Mayor Quimby with vocal fry. And then came Jon Hamm. I can't do it.

Picked up a bit there in 5 06

    7.5/10

I think JJL's accent is the ultimate for someone who thinks that every other human being is beneath her and completely worthless. 😁

Just watch ep 6. Much improved. Jennifer Jason Leigh getting into character now olrite.

    It's too much of a mish-mash overall

    Bit like Beethoven meets Topcat

I enjoyed S5 greatly so far, though E7 dragged a bit. JLLs accent did grate a little, but she was a gloriously obnoxious person. Other accents were fine. Wayne reminded me of Paul from the Wonder Years as an adult.

I hope we see more of Indira, sorting out the golfer who's been watching the tradwife videos on Tiktok.

Thought it was fairly disappointing tbh, had potential but failed to deliver consistently. Last episode was baffling. Definitely a big step down from the first few seasons. Also turns out that none of it is true despite its claims at the start of each episode.

WTF was the '500 years earlier, in Wales' scene all about, in terms of Scandinavian Munch's back story?

    I kept thinking about Bart selling his soul to Millhouse (who also bears a resemblance to Wayne) as it happens;

It’s meant as a joke, Fargo lists itself as a comedy drama and the true story claim is actually an homage to the Coen brothers’ original movie of the same name. The 1996 film opened with that exact wording

Really gathering pace now with Ep8 and moving towards the end-game. Some extremely satisfying moments.

Wasn't gone on the Indira character or actress at the start but both have really grown on me.

I’m really enjoying it. It moves along quickly and doesn’t hang in the filler episodes. The main actress is believable in the way she isn’t overpowering guys that are twice her size, she’s more vicious and resourceful than physically strong (like the main character in Hanna).

Very enjoyable season for me. Think what Dot was looking at the end will play a role in the future of others, although don't think anyone watching will be shocked by that
