WORDLE

Only just saw this, posts can get missed as people tend to come on to post solutions and don't necessarily go through the intermediate posts.

Everyone has their own theories about first words. If you are logged into NYT you can check answers and will see that the same words are up at the top most of the time. Adieu comes up as top word most of the time. That's not to say its the most successful, just that most people start with it. I use whatever random 5-letter word comes to mind that contains two vowels, usually with e as one of them and obvious consonants - c,h,r,t,s for example, but then you get a solution word like 'dolly' and your starters are only good for elimination. I work on the principle that the solution words are very random so any starter word has a decent chance, also vowels are useful but they leave you a long way from a solution, a couple of nice juicy consonants can give you more clues. I am rarely in the top two or three though so make of that what you want 😁.
