Saw the Undertones at the Telegraph Building in Belfast last night! An amazing line-up with Outcasts kicking things off followed by Neville Staple and then Buzzcocks. Great value too at £33 a ticket.

Going to see him in Gateshead this coming Friday. Can't wait.

The living embodiment of a 'gig of two halves'. First 45 minutes i was wondering what on earth had happened to this band? It was pretty lame for a good chunk of it. Then bizarrely the singer said "Now it's gonna get good", and the next 45 were a vast improvement. 90 mins was too long though. I was done at 65 when it looked like they were finished. Then they did a 10min. instrumental jam that really should have been the end. When he announced after that they had three more songs left i groaned. Not a patch on the Workmans gig last year.

As for Basht? Jesus i don't know. MASSIVE bang of 'Industry Plant' off them. They really do strike me as a band that's been assembled by a bunch of suits looking to cash in on the 'Irish guitar craze that the kids are crazy about'. Funnily enough i bumped into someone i know after their set and he said the same thing. And that's from a young guy btw, not a jaded, old cynic like me. Hell, just look at the singer. His mannerisms and movements are exactly like Fontaines/Murder Capital/Gurriers vocalists. It's so calculated. However the young women in the crowd loved them so they'll probably be the next The 1975. It's a hard NO from me though.

Bad Manners last night at the Limelight! They were great though not sure about the choice of support band - heard a few people questioning them!

Love these guys (have never seen them) but they have a good sound.

Yeah, you need to wrap up well! Only my secpnd time there but despite the heat (or lack of....) it was a great night. Particularly enjoyed Neville Staple.

And to complete the weekend Bad Manners played the Limelight last night. First time seeing them and despite a slightly short set they were great too.

With great timing Madness announced this morning that they're coming back to Custom House Square in August so that's another one to look forward to!

First I've heard of this. They've got to do more than that one show.

I think he's referring to former Undertone Feargal Sharkey, but that's only a guess.

That's a different thread, that's general gig announcements of gigs mainly in Ireland whilst this one is particular gigs we've attended or have bought tickets for.

Not until January. That'll be for people to post gig reports, photos, etc., the same as the current Gigs for 2023 one.
