Extend length of external ethernet cable

Hi Folks. Firstly, apologies for the lack of correct terminology here but I will do my best to explain.

I have an outdoor office, electrician has run shielded CAT6 through conduit from my house to my outdoor office. He has left himself a bit short on cable and so we are looking to extend.

Is it just a matter of purchasing an extra few meters of cable and joining it using a CAT6 coupler? (the coupler will be located within the office and won't be exposed to elements from outside) - the length of overall cable would be less than 50 meters.

Appreciate any help.

If it's within an office could you not just hook it up to a hub and go from there? In theory the max length is 100m so once your within that you'll be grand. That rj45 coupler which Clareman has posted will do the trick.

Don't attempt to try and splice the cable together.

All sorted. Used the coupler with the extra length of cable and it’s now connected to one of the mesh nodes.
