Reduce vibration of a 3 cylinder engine

Small 3 cylinder engines are quite rough due to their mechanical design. This is exaggerated when mounted in lower end cars with little sound and vibration proofing. Given that another vehicle has the same issue I'd wager it's just the way they are.

Only thing I can think of is the engine mounts asentioned above but unless it's nothing such as that there is nothing you can do that would make sense financially. Best bet is to stick to the 4 cylinders or hybrids which can set off using battery only.

I was surprised when I rented a 3 cylinder VW and it honestly sounded like something was wrong with it. This was coming from a rattly old 2L 4cyl diesel at the time.

Is there anyway to get it to idle above 1k? It'll use slightly more fuel but it won't feel as rough.

As Jeremy Clarkson said, a cylinder short of an engine.

I think its possible. Might be a job for a good auto electrician. But its a brand new car, your warranty would be voided.

Did you not test drive the car before buying it?

What speed does it idle at when warm?

Not so much a lack of cylinders but a lack of cubes. Triumph use a 2.5l 3 cylinder.
